A core part of how we conduct our democracy. In this case, there is no transfer of power so maybe it doesn't have the panche but its still I think the most pomp and circumstance that we allow our self's to have in our democracy.

Crowd looks huge.

Where is George W Bush? Didn't see him introduced?

Since '97? That is pretty recent when you are talking about POTUS elections.

Not really a big deal...people should just back off Romney.

All this Mitt talk reminded me of all the things that woud already be done if he had been elected.
On DAY ONE he was going to (caution--there are some executive orders in here):

ENERGY
- Approve construction of the Keystone XL pipeline
- Sign an executive order boosting drilling

HEALTH CARE
- Sign an executive order to end Obamacare

IMMIGRATION
- Start plan to solve the problem of undocumented immigration
- Drop the lawsuit against Arizona for its measure cracking down on undocumented immigration

INTERNATIONAL
- Sign an executive order sanctioning China for unfair trade practices
- Reinstate the "Mexico City Policy," which bans U.S. funds from going to international family planning organizations that provide abortions

ECONOMY
- Submit a jobs package to Congress containing five bills and demand that the legislature act on them in 30 days:

•Reduce the corporate income tax rate to 25 percent
•Reinstate the president’s Trade Promotion Authority to facilitate negotiation of new trade agreements
•Explore opening more land for drilling
•Look at taking federal programs and returning responsibility to the states
•Cut non-security discretionary spending in the federal budget by 5 percent

OTHER
- Sign executive order immediately eliminating Obama-era regulations that "unduly burden the economy or job creation"
- Fight to repeal Davis-Bacon Act, which requires that workers are paid prevailing wages on public works projects

Romney was doing his "I'm just a regular guy" routine and was just sittin' and shootin' the shit with some locals. He was offered a plate of pastries that most humans would describe as "donuts." Romney said, "Well, I'd like one of those...um...um...er...ah...um...chocolate goodies!" So, he was unable to identify said item as a donut.

When I mentioned this somewhat humorous little event (along with how regular-joe Mitt happened to own a competitor in the Olympic dancing horsey competition), the board's high-strung right wingers erupted in support of their hero. They went on and on about it. Some people--well, just blaise, really--are still resentful of my good-natured ribbing and claim I was/am "fixated" by it.

And now you know...the rest of the story.

"I talked about both things non stop, for over a month, many times a day, but I was never fixated. Now, you right wingers that mention any issue with Obama are over-reacting."
