Jamie Foxx: Obama is our lord and savior
http://www.examiner.com/article/jami...ord-and-saviorOn the Soul Train Awards broadcast by the BET network on Sunday night, actor Jamie Foxx referred to President Barack Obama as “our lord and savior”. Specifically, during the awards program, Jamie Foxx said: First of all, give an honor to our God and our lord and savior, Barack Obama. Barack Obama. Jamie Foxx has used his popularity as an award-winning actor to extend a political hand of popularity in assisting President Barack Obama throughout the campaign processes which elected Obama in 2008 and re-elected the president this past month in 2012. Many heard the Jamie Foxx comment referencing President Barack Obama as deity via the BET network's promotions for the Soul Train Awards program throughout the day. Jamie Foxx, born Eric Marlon Bishop, is a 44-year-old American actor, stand-up comedian, singer, songwriter, and radio talk show host who won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his performance in the motion picture "Ray" about Ray Charles. |

![]() A painting that features President Obama posed as Jesus Christ crucified on a cross is on display at a community college art gallery in Boston. The painting by Michael D’Antuono is part of a larger exhibit called “Artists on the Stump – the Road to the White House 2012.” It’s on display at the Bunker Hill Community College Art Gallery until Dec. 15th. The painting is called “Truth” – and shows the president on the cross with his arms outstretched. A crown of thorns rests on his head. It was originally supposed to debut nearly four years ago at New York City’s Union Square. But that event was cancelled due to public outrage. “I always regretted cancelling my exhibit in New York because I feel my First Amendment rights should override someone’s hurt feelings,” D’Antuono told Fox News. “We should celebrate the fact that we live in a country where we are given the freedom to express ourselves.” A spokesperson for the art gallery told Fox News there hasn’t been any criticism of the painting. D’Antuono said the public exhibition “has afforded me the ability to right a wrong.” He dismissed critics who called the display blasphemous. “The crucifixion of the president was meant metaphorically,” he told Fox News. “My intent was not to compare him to Jesus.”

He was just being jubilant. He doesn't actually think Obama is on par with Jesus. Though, he might prefer using the term Lord to describe Obama's position, which is decidedly un-American, and view him as some sort of 'savior' of some thing or another (Foxx's values, presumably).

To me it sounds like a sarcastic dig on dumb people that act like a president can actually solve all of their problems

the public that voted for him must really think this man will do everything for them. Even Cowboys fans are petitioning to Obama to oust Jerry Jones. LOL

Four Years Under Obama Wipes Away 30 Years of Black American Gains The economic downturn and long recession have hit the black middle class hard, wiping out gains made in the last 30 years, with plummets in wealth and high rates of foreclosures, the Chicago Tribune reported. It’s projected that 68 percent of middle –class blacks will not do as well as the previous generation, according to the Pew Charitable Trusts' Economic Mobility Project, and the National Urban League reported that most economic gains that the black middle class made during the last 30 years have been wiped out by the economic downturn, according to the Tribune. "This is a very dire situation," Valerie Rawlston Wilson, an economist with the National Urban League Policy Institute, told the Tribune. "Even for blacks who have college degrees, we've seen a doubling of their unemployment (rate) between 2007 and 2010." The nation’s unemployment rate is 7.8 percent. For blacks, it’s 13.4 percent. The average black household's wealth fell by more than half from 2005-2009 while white household wealth fell 16 percent to $113,149, according to the Tribune. "For every $20 whites have in wealth, blacks have just $1," Paul Taylor, director of Pew's Social and Demographic Trends project, told the Tribune. "And in many cases, households get a boost because they inherit wealth from parents and grandparents. Blacks for most of history haven't been able to accumulate that type of wealth." From 2009 to 2012, median household income for blacks has declined by 11.1 percent, compared to the decline for whites of 5.2 percent and for Hispanics of 4.1 percent. "A generation of wealth and assets are evaporating, and the presidential candidates aren't making a peep about it," Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor, 40, a doctoral candidate in African-American studies at Northwestern, told the Tribune. "We're talking about historic changes in manufacturing, and these are systemic changes in the economy and in the midst of this, people are being left behind." http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/tri...0/08/id/459096 How do you spell racism? |
