Tony Dungee would draft Aaron Murray

on Dan Patrick show, Dungee says Murray is a Franchise QB and if he comes out would draft him over Barkley and Geno Smith.

basically said that Murray is the best QB in the draft

Chiefs playing 2nd fiddle again? Haven't we done that forever at QB?

No thanks.

Time to get the highest rated guy.

Have you seen the stats on SB winning QBs taken in the 1st vs everywhere else?

In 13 years as a head coach, Tony Dungy has drafted 3 QBs:

2004 6th Jim Sorgi
2000 7th Joe Hamilton
1999 2nd Shaun King

When it comes to drafting a QB, Tony Dungy should .

When you have Peyton Manning you dont really need to address that position in the draft.

Yeah, that's not gonna happen

If he declares he'll be a first round pick. I would rather have Geno or Tyler Wilson but if we draft him I won't be upset, he has the tools and the height thing is way over-rated...

Either you can make the throws or you can't, and we've seen a lot of the latter

Dungy reminds me of a little better Herm. And his opinion has slightly more weight than Nick Athan. None.

Meh. The best QB I ever saw was listed at 6-2 and 200 pounds, and both of those are obviously likely exaggerated. I'm not scared of shorter QB's at all. This QB (obv Montana) was skinny though, and he was injured a lot. Skinny QB's do worry me, because they get injured and a guy who can't play can't help his team win.

I think the biggest reason shorter QB's rarely succeed, and purely my opinion, is the prejudice against them. They're drafted low and even if they start they're given a short leash and basically expected to fail.

The Drew Brees argument is obviously tired, but I don't know of a lot of other QB's who are under 6-2 that were given a legit opportunity to succeed. Wilson got a legit shot and he's done pretty well with it as a rookie. The sample size has been kept pretty small. I mean I don't think 5-9 linebackers are ideal, but if a guy can play, he can play.

Not really about Murray though. I like Geno better.

Just saw Palmer on Espn ... He says that statistically, Aaron Murray has been the most efficient QB in college football this year.

i'm not pushing for Murray ... just repeating what i hear.

I could learn to like the guy if I knew more about him. It doesn't exactly sell me that his team has been doing well with the most lethal running game in college football and a top 5 defense.

I know he has a good history and can make most throws. I'm not saying he's Greg McElroy. I would have liked to see him flash more this season, that's all.

I've watched a lot of Murray last year, not so much this year.

Probably not worthy of the #1 pick but I would have him right behind Wilson.
1. Geno
2. Wilson
3. Murray
4. Nassib
5. Bray/ Barkley

Look at Georgia's schedule. They've had it very easy for being in the SEC East. No Alabama, no LSU, no A&M.

Here's what Murray did against the two ranked teams they've played:

@ South Carolina
11-31 (35.5%) 109yds 0 TD 1 INT 58.6 Rating
vs. Florida
12-24 (50%) 150yds 1 TD 3 INT 91.3 Rating

In all other games combined:

190-265 (71.7%) 29 TD 3 INT 202.1 Rating
