Kiper: Chiefs should take Te'o with 1st pick
Sorry if repost; per Rotoworld:

ESPN's Mel Kiper believes the Chiefs should select Notre Dame ILB Mant Te'o with the first overall selection, if they end up with it in April.

Kiper explains this decision by saying no top quarterback stands out at the top and the Chiefs do not need pass rushing help from the outside linebacker spot due to Tamba Hali and Justin Houston already being on the roster. We believe one of the quarterbacks will separate themselves during the pre-draft process, and also disagree that an inside linebacker should be selected in the top five.

I don't like Kiper but, i agree that we won't take a QB with the #1 pick. I could see us taking Te'o if we could move back but a MLB at #1 seems unlikely. However, we need leadership badly and he is hands down the best leader in the draft.

I really don't think a QB will go #1 this year.

The draft experts really are idiots. They boast about how much work they put in researching players, etc. but in the end they are just as if not more idiotic than a casual fan.

No one will take a MLB #1 overall. Unless, the rookie cap makes that much of an impact??? But, I doubt it will.

Anyway, he probably is getting attention saying a MLB will go #1 but, it's not going to be a QB. He's right about that. There are going to be several players ranked above the first QB on draft boards.
