Kiper: Chiefs should take Te'o with 1st pick

Sorry if repost; per Rotoworld:

ESPN's Mel Kiper believes the Chiefs should select Notre Dame ILB Mant Te'o with the first overall selection, if they end up with it in April.

Kiper explains this decision by saying no top quarterback stands out at the top and the Chiefs do not need pass rushing help from the outside linebacker spot due to Tamba Hali and Justin Houston already being on the roster. We believe one of the quarterbacks will separate themselves during the pre-draft process, and also disagree that an inside linebacker should be selected in the top five.

If they would sell their reputation sure. There is no way that "experts" would sell their opinions like that. They would not be seen as reputable anymore by their peers. Hence they would be out of a job. There is not an agent or player that would be willing to pay enough to have these guys lose their careers.

Completely false. Ever heard of Gary Wichard? If not, Google it for proof.

Mel Kiper is self-employed. He only offers his opinion on ESPN. He's not an agent, he's not governed by the NFL - nothing.

If he wants to hype a player because he's close with the agent, there's nothing stopping him, at all.

How did you feel about Rondo McClain, Aaron Curry and Luke Kuechly?
