The dumbest thing sports media says?
How often do we hear "team A is quietly having a great season," "Player B has quietly moved to the top of the league in given statistic," "team C has quietly won 5 in row and are on top of the division now."

HEY SPORTS MEDIA... You know why "the Falcons are QUIETLY 7-0 and the only remaining undefeated team in the NFL?" BECAUSE YOU, SPORTS MEDIA AREN'T TALKING ABOUT IT!" If YOU sports media would actually cover what's GOING ON in sports more and what Tebow had for breakfast less MAYBE ACTUAL STORYS WOULDN'T HAPPEN SO QUIETLY!

I've heard it be referred to as both a "crawler" and a "ticker". Never knew there was technically a difference.

A "ticker" is "defined" as a static message that changes at a pre-determined interval... maybe 4 seconds between message changes... hence the "ticking" of the clock until said message is changed. A "crawl" is defined as a constantly moving message. Bump used the word "scrolling" so "crawl" seemed more appropriate. 6 of 1, half dozen of the other. Lets both be right..... or we can fight about it. It's not like it would be the dumbest fight CP has ever seen lol.

I've worked for 2 radio/tv combo's and picked up a few things.

I suggest you call it a bottom scrolling or not scrolling score and information update thingy.
