So, when Romney wins, how long do we wait before blaming him for the economy?

Since so many here already have their minds made up about not only who they are going to vote for, but are certain beyond any doubt who will win, it is time to move on.

Romney is an economic "genius" whose entire campaign is based on the idea that Obama didn't get the economic recovery going fast enough.

So how long should we wait until Romney deserves the same blame for not getting the economy going?

I did some searching to see how long various CP members gave Obama prior to blame:

6 months - petegz29
Biden doing damage control on economic situation

58 Days - HonestCheiffan- Obama It's not my fault, Blame Bush

51 days - patteeu (Velvet Jones and BucEyedPea agreeing)- Obama lied the economy died

39 days - memyselfI (and HCF and others agreeing) - 6000 here we come Yikes Doombama is tanking Wall Street

(-69) days - Bootlegged Obama elected market down 520 points

and (-101) days Bootlegged
http://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showt...+blame+economy

So, what are the guidelines on how quickly to credit/blame Romney?

If Romney were to somehow pull off the upset, I would wager that companies would breathe a sigh of relief and the puckered up butthole of the market would loosen up almost immediately and we'd start to see signs of relief pretty quickly. Funny enough, leftists would credit Obama policies for the recovery - when leaving the office would have been his best economic strategy yet.

You were right the first time. She was predicting that it wouldn't rise above 8% if the stimulus was adopted.

Well whatever the **** their prediction of spending $800 billion failed.

Hence the criticism here was predictable.

uh-hum......BULLSHIT! What is this if we are wrong everyone must have been wrong, crap?

Most people who pay attention knew unemployment was going over 8% easy. And once again we see the "we inherited" phrase.
(i.e., they didn't "inherit" it)

And later in the thread you make some comment about how Biden is to blame because he was in the senate.

Yeah, context, banyon. I was commenting on his stupid statement of 8% which most knew was BS and then his quick move to use the "we inherited" line instead of just saying they were wrong, plain and simple.

Of course, a hypothetical Romney wouldn't have to first stop a speeding locomotive, then try to reverse it. In fact, he wouldn't have to reverse anything.

Sure, as in "what a relief not having record profits and a great stock market."

Do you really think he would need that much time? How many business owners/managers do you know? I know quite a few, and most of them wear their politics on their wallet. Obama scares business people. That's a fact. Anyone who deals with business people at all knows this. For whatever reason they don't feel comfortable making investment with Obama standing over their shoulders.

I'm not voting for Romney - I think he's a creep. But I know how the business people that I work with/for feel about investing in this environment. And I know from my perspective, if I wasn't voting with other principles in mind, and was only voting with my pocketbook in mind, voting Romney would be a no-brainer. I'll make a killing next year if Romney wins - a killing. I'll do Ok under Obama, but I know for a fact that I'd make at least 30-40% more if Romney wins.
