I spoke with Dr. Paul this afternoon about continuing the fight by running on a third party ticket. I want to share what he said to me and let you know what needs to be done to make this happen. I've seen enough reports that lead me to believe construction and small business are on the verge of turnaround. It's not because they're benefitting off great policy. In such a hyper-Republican state, it might not make a difference. In any event, Ron neither encourages nor opposes such efforts, meaning he would sign no election forms.

Ron Paul is playing his supporters for fools. The only reason he's staying "out there" is to collect money from people who thought he had a secret plan to game the delegate system and now he's collecting money from those same people by selling the belief that he has a way to run as a third-party candidate two months before a national election. It's laughable.

Rand will be co-opted no matter what Paul does. It's just noise and a red-herring. The only insurgency within the GOP that has happened was with Ronald Reagan. Even he was co-opted later through the advisors. You guys need to wake up.

BTW I saw yesterday that Paul didn't get a speaking position because he was required to give Mitt a hearty endorsement. I actually think that was a fair request. Still glad he didn't do that though.

BTW Levin is wrong about the Constitution on Presidential war powers, supporting a "living Constitution" and is a most rabid NeoCon. Those guys despise Paul. That's often a sure sign you have one in your midst.

You guys crack me up with your innuendo about Paul being corrupt ( the least corrupt man in govt) when you support a corrupt organization. Classic projection. You see yourselves in others. The American people, at least the undecideds must be viewed this way, are seen as willing to buy that fact that the Clinton tax increases are a causal cause of the economic prosperity that occurred during his term.

Yes, he did raise taxes early in his term, but what was different from then and now, is that we are in no way shape or form, in an expansionary leg of the business cycle.

At best, we are in a protracted trough which is being exacerbated by all of the policy uncertainty("wet blanket") that the current administration is foisting upon the captains of industry.

At worst, we will encounter another shock, which will further destabilize the fragile and tepid recovery that is underway right now. Such a shock, could come in many forms, and I wish that none of these happen: Iran sinking an air craft carrier with a land to sea missile. Iran successfully detonating a nuke on our military base in Afghanistan. Iran choking off the straits of Hormuz for more than 2 weeks. Egypt shutting down the Suez canal. A drought of equal proportion to what we experienced here, occurring in South America, which would further tighten the already ridiculous grain Markets. The European debt crisis genie getting out of the bottle that the bankers are trying desperately to put back in.

The SS America, ship of state is adrift, with a weak and indecisive captain. If the American people, or at least a majority of them, are too stupid(your premise, not mine) to see this, then we will end up wherever the currents take us.
