Schefter: Chiefs are high on Ricky Stanzi

He said it on the new ESPN Insiders show with Mort, Clayton, and Schefter. Said that Stanzi has caught the eye of the Chiefs and that he could be ahead of Brady Quinn on the depth chart.

BossChief has a better summary....

Ricky Stanzi hasn't made any mistakes as far as interceptions. He's calm and has caught the eye of the people in the Chiefs organization.

Look, it's Matt Cassels job. Everybody knows that right now. MUCH TO THE UNHAPPYNESS OF MANY FANS IN THE AREA. Ricky Stanzi is a quarterback to watch there in Kansas City in the near future...despite the fact that they brought in Brady Quinn this offseason to backup Matt Cassel."

Game 6, bitches.

Or Robert Gallery, or Nate Kaeding being the best kicker in the history of the draft. This place almost melted down when Carl passed on him in the 2nd round.

Moeaki kicked ass his rookie season. I hope he can return to form and if so, he'll be a beast.

And *****'s friendship with Kirk Ferentz guarantees that we will draft an Iowa tackle every year.

The same thing would have happened if drafted Gabbert or Chase.

There weren't many of us that voted yes in my poll.

Also, don't worry about hurt feelings, dude, go ahead and put my name on your claims.

Interesting points.

But, this is just me, I wouldn't fixate my mind too much on history/statistics.

I'd rather be more focused on ability instead.

You, me and less than a handful of others nailed that pick.

First round quality player in the end of the third because of injury concerns.

Hopefully, he returns to form and has a long and productive career.

That wasn't intended as solely referring to you. There's a solid Stanzi fan club here. It's the inherent nature for all of those people to act like they were the only ones to believe in the guy when he succeeds. I think he's going to have a good preseason with a full offseason under his belt. He didn't get that last year. I think he looked good last preseason but not as HOF-great as people act like sometimes... although I realize his OL was terrible. People point out a handful of great throws he made and so forth.

As much as Cassel has stunk at times, he's usually good for 2-3 really nice throws a game too. It's the other 75% of the garbage that is the problem.

Of course. This is as close as ***** will get to light a fire(so-called real competition) under Cassel's ass. If ***** wanted real competition he would have re-signed Orton. This is all just media hype initiated by ***** in sending a message to Cassel. Nothing against Stanzi because I would love to see what this guy can do like all of you, but this smells of a Parcells/Bellichek move.

Maybe Cassel should take notes from Stanzi in practice on how to have some testicular fortitude in the freaking pocket.

Edit: Yes this is my best dirty joke too.

Stanzi to Kris Wilson will be epic.
