Do you have a good reason to bump that thread?
Lately, we've had a few users who think bumping threads from years ago is fun for them. It's nothing new necessarily but the mod team has had more and more complaints on the matter. At least 2 people have been banned over it. So we wanted to make an announcement. If you are browsing the archives and decide to bump an old thread to the front page you should have a very compelling reason and state it in your bump post. Otherwise, you may risk a vacation. This rule applies in the lounge area at this time only. It doesn't seem to be a problem in subforums.

If you have looked around then you know this community gets away with more than any other place on the internet. You want complete freedom go to Chan4. This place has very basic rules in place. You really have to be a big time dick to earn a vacation here.

There's the rub. Nobody is going to get banned for bumping a single thread. Nobody is going to get banned the first time they circumvent a filter. Become a problem child and you're going to have problems. This new rule isn't going to apply to 99.99% of the people here because at least 30% of those people aren't idiots.
