Sandbox Football League 1: Discussion Thread

This thread is to separate you from those pikers in League 2.

If you don't mind, introduce yourself (user name) and your team name and I'll put them in this post so everyone knows which teams are which.

From this point on, make your roster comments, trading block announcements, and other stuff in this thread. And good luck in the 2012 season!

Bo's Pelini - Overland Park Chiefs
Omega - Denver Broncos
Rain Man - Duluth Pillagers
Rain Man (babysitting) - Richmond Tigerhawks
DJ's Left Nut - Clearwater Donkeys
DMAC - High Point Knob Hills
rageeumr - Provo Knuckledraggers
David. - Fort Wayne Dukes
noa - Austin Armadillos
lostcause - Anchorage Roadkill Rabbits
sfchief - Las Vegas Sharks
Dave Lane - Kansas City Ball Busters
shorman22 - Topeka Tyrannicides
RockChalk - Ventura Highways
cdcox - Independence Vision

I'll post others as they announce themselves. You can always message any team through the Sandbox site, but since it's the offseason some may not be checking the site. We'll likely be setting up a BB system in that site before long to make a full migration.

Denver Broncos - bfett81

TRADE BLOCK ANNOUNCEMENT:

I'm looking for a good corner, defensive tackle, right tackle or 4-3 outside linebacker.

I have the following players for trade:

DE Chris Clemons (12 sacks, 45 QB pressures)
DE Charles Johnson (10 sacks, 32 QB pressures)
DE Andre Carter (11 sacks, 24 QB pressures)
OLB Sam Acho (37 tackles, 6 sacks)
MLB EJ Henderson (102 tackles)

I'll also move other players if you need a backup because you're trading a player at a position where you only have two players. This works both ways, mind you, because I only have 4 defensive ends.

I'm in pretty dire need of some help at WR. I had 4 guys (Anthony Gonzalez, Clyde Gates, Roscoe Parrish and Danny Amendola) combine for 7 catches. 5 of those were in the season opener for Amendola where he went down for the season.

I'm not necessarily looking for a star, just some depth.

Can you guys go ahead and extrapolate Matt Flynn's stats out as if he played 16 games? That'd be great. Thanks.

Clearwater's Trade Bait and Needs:

Trade Bait:

We have an extra fullback between McClain and Greg Jones

Jeremy Shockey and Joel Dreeson are trade bait at TE

Khalif Barnes at RT

Worst case we could trade Jeff Saturday at C, but we'd need value for him.

Bernard Pollard is a top-notch non-cursing SS, and Deon Grant is available for 9 games at SS.

Juqua Parker is a good 4-3 DE, and for a price I could let go of Mark Anderson as a pass-rushing DE

Remi Ayodele is a legit starting nose tackle who is available.

Team Needs:

Left tackle. Badly. Send help now.

Guard. Need a right guard.

I need two 3-4 ILBs. Ouch.

Aaron Rodgers QB
Chad Henne QB
Troy Smith QB

Good here. Yep. Good.

Maurice Jones-Drew HB
Jason Snelling HB
Kregg Lumpkin HB
Brian Westbrook HB
Leonard Weaver HB

Not much depth, but we have the Iron Horse starting. We're fine.

Greg Jones FB
Le'Ron McClain FB

Got some depth here.

Percy Harvin WR
Dez Bryant WR
Jason Hill WR
Leonard Hankerson WR
David Reed WR
Kassim Osgood WR

Two starters and a little light after that.

Heath Miller TE
Jeremy Shockey TE
Joel Dreessen TE
Brandon Manumaleuna TE

Tyler Polumbus LT
Lee Ziemba LT
James Brewer LT

Okay, big trouble here. No talent at all.

Gosder Cherilus RT
Khalif Barnes RT
Reggie Wells T

Good shape here, with talent to spare.

Travelle Wharton G
Jason Spitz G
Deuce Lutui G

Definitely need more talent here. We have one guard, need a second.

Jeff Saturday C
John Sullivan C

Got a good starter and a good center of the future.

Matt Prater K

Damn Bronco, but we're fine.

Mike Scifres P

Good shape here.

Earl Thomas FS

Great shape here with two starters.

Amari Spievey SS
Bernard Pollard SS
Deon Grant SS

I think I'm good here. Both were hurt, but both played a majority of the season.

Kareem Jackson CB
Marcus Trufant CB
Demarcus Van Dyke CB
Shawntae Spencer CB

This is big trouble. Jackson made it most of the year but Trufant was hurt and the other guys are depth.

Tamba Hali OLB
Brooks Reed OLB
Bryan Kehl OLB
Joey Porter OLB

I'm going to go ahead and name Hali the starter. Oh, hey. Brooks Reed is an OLB. All of a sudden this position isn't so bad.

Rocky McIntosh ILB
Greg Jones ILB
Dhani Jones MLB

Ouch. Between these guys I may have one starting ILB in a 3-4. Maybe.

Cameron Jordan DE
Kenyon Coleman DE
Mark Anderson DE
Juqua Parker DE
Austen Lane DE

Surprisingly good shape here with two good starters and a pass rush specialist.

Sione Pouha NT
Remi Ayodele DT
Ma'ake Kemoeatu NT
Lamar Divens DT

I have two legit starters. Willing to trade one for LB help.

I'm open to trades for 3-4 Defensive help at OLB, ILB, CB, DE. I'd be interested in a good 1-2WR.

I have extra starters at RT and will listen to offers on other players. Adrian Clayborne is a better 4-3 RDE than 3-4 too.

Right now, my starting O would look like the following

Crabtree(WR) King(TE) Okung(lt)Hutchison(lg)Rabach(C) Andrews(rg) Yanda(rt) lloyd/Sims(WR)

Stafford (QB)
Karney (FB)
Peterson (RB)

I think that's a pretty damn good offense with Shonne Green, cam newton and plenty of depth on O line.....

Richmond Tigerhawks

Trade Bait:

We have a good extra FB if anyone needs one (McIntyre, most likely.)

Maybe Roy Williams or Derrick Mason at WR if someone is desperate (rageeumr?)

Evan Moore or Matt Spaeth at TE, anyone?

Any of my bottom three guards, all of whom are good. Scott played all year, Watkins most of it, and Williams a little more than half.

Will Montgomery as a starting C.

Quentin Carter started a lot at FS.

Chris Canty is a good 3-4 DE.

Robbins, Knighton, and Patterson are a good DT rotation, but I could let one of them go if needed.

Team Needs:

Could use a stopgap HB if cheap.

Need a stopgap LT for at least half the year.

Need a strong safety badly.

Need a starting CB.

Wouldn't mind an upgrade at OLB.

If I trade Chris Canty I'd need a part-time stopgap 4-3 DE.

Matt Hasselbeck QB
Mark Sanchez QB
Tyler Thigpen QB

We didn't expect Hasselback to win the starting job, but he did.

Isaac Redman HB
Jamaal Charles HB
James Starks HB
LaRod Stephens-Howling HB

That hurt.

John Conner FB
Corey McIntyre FB

Two good players here.

Malcom Floyd WR
Derrick Mason WR
Roy E. Williams WR
Donald Jones WR
Josh Morgan WR
Mardy Gilyard WR
Dwayne Harris WR

Malcolm, this is your chance to be the star!

Scott Chandler TE
Evan Moore TE
Matt Spaeth TE
Tony Moeaki TE

Lots of mediocrity, but lots of playing time.

Sam Baker LT
Barry Sims LT

Major problems here due to injuries and retirement.

Andre Smith RT

Didn't make it the entire year, but got most of it.

Kraig Urbik G
Jake Scott G
Danny Watkins G
Chris Williams G

Lots of nicks, but overall four good starters.

Jonathan Goodwin C
Will Montgomery C
Mike McGlynn C

Great shape here with two full-year starters.

Josh Scobee K
Joe Nedney K

Nedney's gone, but Scobee's fine.

Kevin Huber P

Fine and dandy.

Dashon Goldson FS
Quentin Carter FS
Mark Legree FS
Macho Harris FS

Great shape here with a pro bowl starter.

Courtney Greene SS
Melvin Bullitt SS

Ouch. Two major injuries. Help!

Sheldon Brown CB
Curtis Brown CB
Brandon Harris CB
David Jones CB

Thank goodness for Sheldon Brown.

Clark Haggans OLB
Manny Lawson OLB
Gabe Miller OLB

Not exactly big names, but we're covered with two solid guys.

Derrick O. Johnson ILB
Lofa Tatupu MLB

We have DJ. We win.

Israel Idonije DE
Chris Canty DE
Osi Umenyiora DE
Jeremy Jarmon DE
Stylez G. White DE

We'd be in good shape if Osi had played all year. I need half a DE.

Terrance Knighton DT
Mike Patterson DT
Fred Robbins DT
Tony Brown DT
