They hired the architect of New England's record-setting 2007 offense (McDaniels) and traded for a QB with a 21-12 career record as a starter (Kyle Orton). (I know, I'm pushing it with the facts. But those ARE facts.) They crushed the draft: two first-rounders (including running back Knowshon Moreno, who could light it up right away) and five of the top 64 picks. They play in a division with two awful teams (Kansas City and Oakland). They easily could start 4-0 (at Cincy, home for Cleveland, at Oakland, home for Dallas). And the city of Denver has lost all hope. Also, I want to throw up and you are shaking your head right now. In other words, the Broncos fit the bill. Ten and six, I say.

I know I said that before. I don't think McDaniels can turn any QB into a Pro Bowl QB, but any QB that HE handpicks and works with can be turned into a Pro Bowl QB.

Shannon Sharpe is the man!

The absence of drama to date in Marshall's return is being viewed as a positive sign by Shannon Sharpe, formerly a star tight end for the Broncos and a member of consecutive Super Bowl-winning teams in the late 1990s.

Sharpe said he reached out to Marshall by phone while the receiver served his suspension in hopes some candid advice from him would help Marshall get his act together.

During a three-way call that also included former Broncos receiver Rod Smith, Sharpe said he told Marshall flat out that he was wrong and urged him to start "acting like a grown man, a professional football player and conduct himself accordingly."

"You just can't condone behavior like that. Even if he was my brother, I'd still tell him he was wrong," Sharpe said.

Sharpe said Marshall seemed to take his words to heart and he said he believes Marshall has learned from what has been a painful lesson.

"I think he's handling this in a very positive way," Sharpe said. "Moving forward, I don't think the Broncos are going to have any problems with Brandon Marshall."

There may even be a reason behind his refusal to answer questions from reporters this week.

"I told him I think he should let his play do his talking," Sharpe said.

That clearly had nothing to do with the typical progression of QB's during their career or extra level he went when he finally had receivers.

Shanahan knowing RB's really well is also a bit of a dubious claim.

Barely used franchise quarterback (Soldier Field)

Bored, but never boring, Jaycee, our disgruntled pomeranian/hound mix, available for pickup at any time.

Needs a good home, at least a "10," (9 need not apply). Great at crotch sniffing, but cries a lot and is regularly butthurt.

Not terribly loyal, but might get better with time in a better home. Regularly tells us he's stronger than Benji or Lassie.

Tends to yell a lot at owners or be completely disinterested.

Listens to a lot of My Chemical Romance records. Has a tendency to bite the hand that feeds him.

No the Chiefs will not go anywhere with Cassel. Matt Cassel will NEVER have a better team around him than he had last year.... And with ALL of that talent, Cassel couldn't even get the 16-0 Patriots to the playoffs.

That game should not have came down to a tipped pass. Denver was the better team. We owned them from the get go. Cinci put together one drive at the end of the game, that is it.

Denver's defense is legit. A lot of the leftovers from the Shanahan era were perfect fits for the 3-4.
