So nearly everything points to this date as the day the world will end. The Mayan calendar ends on this date, as they predicted something catastrophic would happen to the entire world. Well ive done my fair share of research on this, written reports and such. This is some pretty scary stuff, and the people that just sit back and dont think its true, just ignore it, will soon find they were wrong. The planet Nibiru (approx the size of Saturn) is slated to pass into our solar system, going between the Sun and the Earth, and god knows what could happen with that. This event will create what is called a "pole shift" which means, the way our earth sits, tilted on its axis, will shift and become opposite of what it is now....No this will not happen over time...This will happen with a matter of 1 to 3 days. Think about the Hurricanes, and other natural disaters that will rise because of this. Also on this specific date, The Earth will be passing through the middle of the Milky Way. A Black Hole was recently found to be in the middle of the Milky Way. For those that dont know, a Black Hole is an intense force of gravity that just sucks everything in space into it, like water going down a drain as a metaphor. This Black Hole would basically turn the Earth into the size of a Basketball. That is how strong the pressure of a Black Hole is...Ok enough talking from me...go see for yourself, research and learn about this fasinating event, that will soon become a motion picture in Summer of 09'. The same time we will be able to see Nibiru from the naked eye. research about the wizard Merlin and his prophecies(sp?) ...any comments on this? did anyone else already know about this? This is not a joke like the year 2000 was.

You want to talk freaky. On that date, my sons will be 5 and 8 years old respectively. Side by side, that is 58, DT's number (who is deceased). If you reverse the numbers you get 85, which is Will Franklin's number (from Mizzou). I'm a Mizzou grad. There's more. If you subtract 58 from 85, you get 27, which is LJ's number. LJ's contract extension runs through 2012. Need I continue!?!?!

Ancient cultures tended to view time in a cyclical format, not a linear one. So, the Mayans calendar doesn't actually "run out," as much as it "resets". That it "ends" on the Winter Solstice is indicative of cultures worldwide that paid homage to the Sun. At one point the Mayans actually had three different calendars all running concurrently.

There is a Muslim calendar that ends in 2040, a Jewish one that ends in 2240. As you can see, we have lots of candidates for "predicting the end". But, they are not really ends. These are not the end of "time", they are the ends of "Ages" or "Aeons". The Western world has its own system of the "Great or Platonic Year", made up of "ages" dominated by the Zodiac. You kow, "This is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius"? Well, that also means the "end" of the Age of Pisces. Jesus didn't say he would be with us until the end of "time", he said to the end of the "Age".

So, its probably coincidence that we have an alignment with center of the universe that day, not a calendar prediction. The Mayans were very adept at determining the amount of time it took for the Earth to revolve about the Sun, as the calendar is more accurate than the Gregorian, but the ends of cycles reflect Earth based vantage points of the path of the Sun, not cosmic knowledge. In other words, I wouldn't bank your financial and other future plans on the lack of responsibility you think might befall us after that date. Chances are, we'll see the next day, just as we survived the year 666, 1000, and Y2K.

I remember finding info somewhere saying that our solar system passes through the galactic "equator" on that date, and that there are some that believe that our magnetic fields will shift, completely changing the rotation of the Earth, possibly extinguishing all life. I'll have to look to see if I can find that stuff...
