Yeah, so I saw a lot of movies this weekend.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age - Mediocre, at best. Slow and dragged on. Shorten it to 2 hours and it's golden. It's not, so it fails.

Michael Clayton - Amazing. Everything about it is awesome. However, it's VERY complex and mind bending. You have to think, so be prepared. I still feel like I'm missing key details of exactly what happened. Gotta see it again.

Across the Universe - Perfect is one word that comes to mind. It just works. And, contrary to many people I bet, the movie is best viewed sober. Trust me.

I just watched The Help. It's been on my DVR for 6 months. What an outstanding film. I can't believe it's taken this long to watch it.

I enjoyed the movie. I also live in Fondren - where some of the movie was filmed, FYI. I go to Brent's Drugs pretty regularly. Fantastic milkshakes!

Yeah, that was pretty obvious. But BD has tonal jokes, homage jokes, bloopers left in jokes, cheap set jokes, intentional set dressing jokes, jokes of nonsensical logic, physical humor, . . just too much to catalog. It'd take a commentary.

One that consistently cracks me up, not the cream of the crop but memorable and consistently funny, is the thug who pulls up to the gunfight in the Caddy, but fails to put the car in park.

I felt they built it up really well.

But, it just wasn't as scary as I originally thought it was going to be.
