Back at my first job we used to quiz a lot of the girls for fun. Mostly just history questions.

Who won the civil war? Who fought in the American Revolution? Things like that..

We ended up asking one of the cooks once. After giving up, we finally told him the North had won the Civil War over the South. Then we followed up with the "who fought in the American Revolution?" question.

His answer: ".... I don't know. The East and the West?"

Its not a problem with the education system, it is a problem because of our ancestors needed to focus on one thing at a time. SURVIVAL.

Same reason why texting and driving is so dangerous. It is tough to do two things at once.

If that were true, the students wouldn't have been able to answer the Snooki and Brad Pitt questions.

Dude, they didn't ask them to solve an algebraic equation. They didn't ask them something that should have challenged their brains.
