Oh my.

I literally fist pumped three times, flipped both middle fingers to my computer screen and yelled "**** YEAH, MOTHER****ER" when this happened:

Quote:
Clearwater

2nd Q 6:59 Greg Zuerlein kicks 63 yards, returned for 12 yards by free agent

2nd Q 6:51 1st and 10 Clearwater 14 Chris D. Johnson rushes for 0 yards.

2nd Q 6:09 2nd and 10 Clearwater 14 Aaron Rodgers sacked by Charles Johnson for a loss of -10 yards.

2nd Q 5:33 3rd and 20 Clearwater 4 Aaron Rodgers passes incomplete to Rod Streater.

2nd Q 5:26 4th and 20 Clearwater 4 Mike Scifres punt shanked for 11 net yards.
And Mike Scifres just may be cut this week after basically giving up 2 TDs all on his own.

Thank god for that, otherwise that INSANE RALLY at the end wins the game for Clearwater.

Phew.

Also, Tom Brady kinda sucks now. I have no idea how to fix this at this point. I have a great offensive line, three really good receivers and a fine TE, but he just has been crap lately. I've tried multiple gameplans, I even STARTED TORREY SMITH this week, and he keeps playing like Matt Cassel. Ugh.

Clearwater's late rally is just insane in this game:

1st TD: 30-second drive

2nd TD: 60-yard punt return

3rd TD: 1 minute, 33-second drive

3 TDs in the span of barely 5 minutes. I started to sweat.

Yet another heartbreaking loss for Duluth. We were two yards from winning the game at the final gun and threw an interception. My main job now is to keep this team from infighting as they come up against a major game at Anchorage next week. We're still looking at a playoff spot if we can hold together.

I can't even remember the last time Tom Brady threw a TD pass.

He's lost 10 points off his completion percentage in the last month.

WTF is going on?

Oh hey, I just realized Denver clinched the Lunar North.

Two more wins (or one win and a Clearwater loss) and home field is locked up.

It's good to be the King.

It is kind of interesting to see the flip in power between the two conferences in just one year. Last year, Lunar conference was more competitive with the worst division winner at 10-6 and the two wildcards at 13-3 and 12-4. Meanwhile the only power in the 2011 Solar conference was the Vision at 11-5.

This year the Lunar Conference has the Broncos at 11-1, Clearwater at 9-3 and a bunch of also rans. Over in the Solar Conference there are 6 teams with records of 8-4 or better. One of those will be watching the playoffs from home, bitching about some Lunar team limping in at 8-8.

That was an ugly game to follow. We each had bad turnovers.

Dig a little deeper and the also rans in the lunar north would be a lot better if they didn't have to play each other every week

Week 13 lineups are available and we will sim Monday night.

Also I made a few very minor upgrades to the sim engine:

1) safeties on punt returns will become less frequent
2) yard lines on free kicks and onside kicks were fixed
3) until now injury availability was ignored for punters and kickers. I fixed that so if they are unavailable in a given week, they will now won't play in your game.

Key Game of the Week (from my perspective): Duluth (6-6) at Anchorage (6-6)

Two rivals duke it out with strong playoff implications for the loser. Duluth enters the game as a 2-point underdog in deference to a more productive Anchorage defense.

The loser of this game still has to play Denver, so this is definitely key.

I am missing Cecil Shorts, Ryan Broyles, and Earl Bennett this week, even though they all played in week 13, Cecil Shorts being the biggest loss.

Ugh.

Scifres and Dez Bryant really hurt me in that game. I also didn't have Chandler Jones who's a very good run-support DE and it was obvious when Parker was trying to carry the load (and Melvin Ingram was the backup DE). The D just wasn't there this week.

If Dez "three drops and a penalty" Bryant didn't suck dicks every week, I'd have a punchers chance, but when your defacto #1 WR is just awful despite all evidence to the contrary (thanks, Sandbox), you're in trouble. Scifres will bounce back just fine; his was just a bad game. But there are problems from that game that will remain all season.

Depending on where you look, Bryant was like 6th or 7th in the NFL in drops last season. He's 8th in Sandbox. Just sayin'.
