I don't have an answer for you as far as the LT/RT thing, but if you look at Vick's entire body of work, he's average. But god damn, his good seasons/games he's breathtaking. Some games his ability to avoid rushers was almost mystical. Like he had eyes in the back of his head in some cases.

Who was his RT in Philly? His line in Philly was dog shit. Which is a damn shame for them because he was on fire that first season he got to start. His accuracy was improved, his decisions were better, etc. He just had no chance on a lot of plays. Some of it comes down to his style (make shit happen in the backfield for long enough and someone will be open or a running lane will present itself), but a lot of times he was dead in the water 1 second after the snap.

Cross the bridge when you get to it. You have less than a 10% chance of having a left handed QB. So of course left tackles get paid more.
Scouts don't consider left handed QBs because there aren't many of them there. If he's good, he'll work his way up to being a starter, if not as the case is most of the time, he won't make it. That simple

If a QB is stellar, 32 teams out of 32 will make him fit. Teams won't pass on a great left handed QB just because of their left tackle or right tackle or w/e.

No love for Tim Tebow?....he did have a lil bit of success....
Honestly, i think Mark Brunell and Vick were the last lefties to have any sort of sustained success in the NFL.

Teams still put the most athletic and fastest pass rusher at the RDE or ROLB spots depending on the defense they play.
I don't think it changes much. It's not like the elite pass rushers switch sides against lefty QB's. The RT's are still going against LDE's just like every other game. If anything lefty QB's have an advantage in that regard... the other team's best rusher usually isn't coming from his blind side. |
