Just read a choice bit of a mail today. KCP&L is petitioning for a 12% rate increase for Kansas residence. So that extra money you got from the cheaper gas? Well, don't get used to it being in your pocket.

I keep my house at 69. I never turn anything off, my house isn't huge, but it's 4 bedroom house with finished basement. 4 people total in the house. The bedroom doors are always closed, so that doesn't help with circulation. Never leave the windows or doors open, though.

It's gotten progressively worse the last 5 years, every year, I don't know why.

Shit. I guess that works in KC (?) where it's not too hot. If I kept my AC at 69 in the summer time I'd probably have $500 electric bills too.
