Oh for ****'s sake...THAT'S our basketball team's rallying cry this season?

Might as well just concede that EVERYONE is going to point out how badly you suck.

nice slogan there. Sounds like your athletic department is too scared to fire him because of the backlash.

Praying that you are 100% correct on this. Would be the best thing he could do for Mizzou.

Hope you're right, but I don't see a guy at his "dream" job quitting in year 2. Hope I'm wrong.

:shakes head:

The level of incompetence in this staff is high but should be expected.

Other than their experience at Mizzou, the guy with the most legit D1 experience is the Shields guy they hired last months as director of basketball operations (or whatever the non-recruiting staff member title is).

D2 head coach...
D2 lead assistant...
JUCo/AAU assistant...
HS/prep school assistant

I'm glad they think they're going to shut people up, but I'd like to know what sunshine fantasies that's based around.

I am appalled at the current state of this program and there is no excuse for it. I never expect to be a Duke, Kentucky etc but we should not have fallen this far in such short order.

Honest to God, the house next door to Mack Rhoades new place in Columbia is for sale and I really REALLY want to get it just so I can fly my upside down Mizzou flag on basketball game days with a big ol' Mississippi State flag over top of it.

Well that and I could have barbecues with Mizzou's AD...but probably not if I kept shouting 'WHY DIDN'T YOU HIRE BEN HOWLAND, YOU ASSHOLE!' every time I let my dogs out. I don't suspect he'll want to swing by for ribs and stuff in that event.

I could probably surreptitiously shit in his lawn though. That might be fun.

Yeah.

If someone is going to talk about how haters will only whisper about your success, you'd think they'd at least make sure there was something to ****ing whisper about before making that statement.

I mean... What successes are there?

Signing a pair of shitty as **** recruiting classes?

Losing the best player from the first recruiting class to transfer?

Losing the best player you inherited to transfer?

Defeating 8 D1 teams in Year 1?

I have to admit, I agree on the Ben Howland miscue. Did him being an "ADIDAS coach" and Missouri being a Nike school really have that much impact?

And how do you dig out of that mess with the current staff? Anderson may have been a good hire after Norm retired but completely rebuilding a program at this point in his life? Very unlikely.

The biggest obstacle was Mike Middleton's meddling and insistence that Missouri hire nothing but "clean" coaches without a whiff of impropriety.

That, and Tim Wolfe getting involved to "Bring back the good old days of Norm ball."
