Off-Season : Wish List FA & Draft

I wanted to start a thread were we can all discuss exactly who we should target, and thoughts about fixing defense.

So here is how I want thread format to go:

Pick Top Two FA's & Top Two Draft Prospects you would like! and explain why!

Free Agency

http://nfltraderumors.co/top-25-2019...e-agents-list/
Here1

here2

Draft
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/prospect-rankings/
here3

here4

here5

For me it's the following:

Free Agents :

C.J. Mosely

Ronald Darby

I like the physical nature of both of these players, I believe C.J. Mosely can deliver a run stopping thumb by shooting the gaps, and Darby can provide good run support and great bump and run coverage in man.

Draft Prospects :
Deionte Thompson

I think this kid would be a natural replacement for Berry, and teaming him up with Armani Watt's by having him play SS while Watt's plays FS would be a great combo.

Jerry Tillery
I want some more beef on the D-Line, I think Jerry could play at 315+ and still be able to move. I think he would be perfect for filling gaps and taking on double teams.

I know these guys would need to drop for us to have a chance, hence why its a wishlist.

I'm not signing a CB in free agency, atleast not a top end of the market one. If i'm getting a corner, i'm trading a pick for one already under contract.

Or Jalen Ramsey.

That would mean some current defenders are going to be let go, but that's fine.

They're gonna bring in new voices on D

They need a dog on the defense somewhere.

Matt Paradis at Center would be awfully nice to help keep Mahomes safe. I love Mitch Morse but his concussion history makes me think his availability to play all season is in serious doubt.

Honestly trading for Ramsey’s

Hiring Red Ryan

And drafting a top prospect MLB

Could fix our defense over night. Rex Ryan didn’t have stud safeties in New York

This draft is really a good one for Centers. I'd just draft one.

With some of the Round 1 DL guys returning for stupid reasons, I'd probably get a new DE to replace super jag Allen Bailey. If Rex Ryan is the hire, would think he'd have a lot of interest in either Wilkerson or Richardson.

They need a couple DL for sure.

Let Bailey go elsewhere, see what you can do in free agency and the draft. I don't know that they can afford Wilkerson or Richardson, or even what they'll command on the FA market but I wouldn't hate it.

They could bring in David Irving on a one year prove it deal to see if he can get his shit together.

He'll get more money than Morse and has had his own injury issues.

Draft one I'd say. You already have insurance in Reiter.

Hire Kris Richard and sign Earl Thomas. Together they can help change the defensive culture and mold this lump of shit into a firm turd able to stop half the 3rd down attempts against them. That should be good enough to get to the Super Bowl next year.

edit: Being a firm turd should be enough, not just those two. Chiefs need a quality starting CB, and some damn ILBs.

We just need to be middle of the pack honestly. This is why I'm pushing Rex Ryan so hard.

Scheme wasn't the problem, it was the coaches (Coaching) making the wrong calls OVER AND OVER AND OVER again and NOT ADJUSTING THE SCHEME for the game being played.

My plan:
Hire a 43 DC
Tag and trade Dee Ford. Hopefully you add a second round pick

1st round: best ILB/CB/S available
2nd round 1: best ILB/CB/S available (position you didn’t draft at 1h)
2nd round 2: finish out the trio of targets
Ford pick: RB1 or DE that fits scheme

Use cap space to add a solid 43 LE and Earl Thomas (or one of the many other quality S available).

Cut Barry and Sorenson. Cut Houston or move him to RE if you think he can handle it.

I think since Sutton is gone that Peters wants to come back. Since he had such a bad season in LA they would probably take a 3rd or 4th rd pick. Trade for him should be one of the first things done come March.

So if we're going to a 43, who do you guys like now?

I still like Hicks.

I would try to sign Dee but probably gonna go the route of franchise tag. Think they should hang onto Nelson, even though I know there are a lot of folks on here that would disagree with that. Would love to see an Earl Thomas come here but I don't see it happening, especially with the Chiefs trying to lock up Tyreek and Jones ASAP.

Draft is too far away to make any real guesses, not that my assessment is remotely relevant anyways. Obviously OLine and secondary are what should be focused on.

Man, Kpass is looking like an absolute waste of a 2nd rounder jeez
