Seriously.

Fridays this fall, starring Lucas Till.

I'm sure a trailer will be forthcoming soon.

All of those options SHOULD be extra. Automatically paying for services you don't want or need would be a better option? I don't get that.

I'm sorry but that's his fault. I have every Direct TV channel and service (HD, HD Extra, maintenance, Whole Home, DTV Cinema - everything) along with three DVR's and my bill, with tax, is $130 dollars per month. HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, Starz!, Encore, etc. Everything.

I recently purchased several Roku devices for rooms in which a DVR wasn't necessary. With my DTV account, I can log into and view more than 55 channels including all of the premium channels, ABC, NBC and Fox, along with History, Disney, Nick, etc. and it doesn't cost a dime.

Thanks sunshine. I'll just bow out now. All my opinions are invalid anyway.

"Sunshine"? What the ****?

Hey man, I'm not the guy advocating that people should pay extra for channels and services they don't want.

I'm also not the guy paying $175 dollars a month for satellite or cable, either, nor am I advocating or justifying a $175 dollar month satellite or cable bill.

Your anger should be directed elsewhere.

Dude you have treated me like shit on this board for the last few months in our brief interactions. I don't know when I pissed in your wheaties but I thought we were friends. My comments were not directed AT you but just commenting on the current situation of cable tv. You make me feel that I'm beneath you which is how we started out several years ago before we found some common ground. Now its like we are starting all over again.

I'm stepping out of this thread now because I don't want to escalate this to a thread stopping argument.

I haven't treated you any differently. You're overreacting and are way too sensitive about matters you can't control.

We get it. You don't place the same value on cable TV as the providers so the solution is simple: Don't purchase the product.

If you or anyone in your family is paying an exhorbitant amount for their monthly service, call the provider and ask for a discount. I do it every six to twelve months and it works every time.

Also, as I mentioned earlier, I dumped two DVR's ($18.50 a month) in favor of the $39.99 Roku and other than not being able to record, it's great. Most networks have at least 10 episodes available to stream. For us, there's no reason to have a DVR in every room.

Welp as a huge Mac fan as a kid....this looks purely like shit. They already tried the young MacGyver thing. Coincidentally the guy they cast back then had a face begging to be hit with a waffle iron too. I don't think it lasted long at all. Or it was never picked up. I don't remember the details exactly.

I assumed it was going to be awful but I gave it a shot anyway. It wasn't bad. Not anywhere near as good as the movies, though. Chris Tucker just made those great, IMO.

Tucker was too iconic to replace, as was Chan.

I mean, really? Someone at network thought it was good idea to replace those guys and that chemistry?

Yep. I was gonna mention the chemistry between them, as well. You can't just pull that out of thin air.

Meh.

And to the subtext of the thread: I bought one of the original Roku boxes years ago, when my two youngest kids were still in High School. It changed the way we watched TV. Now my TV sits in the living room almost unused. The only thing I watch on it are live sports and the occasional movie rental. I get my entertainment almost exclusively from the internet, even my reading material has transitioned to mostly electronic. The last time my TV went out I drove to the store that night to buy another one. When this one goes out I probably won't buy another.

I linked it earlier. The cw never picked it up, only the pilot was made. The lead went on to do supernatural, which is ending its eleventh season tonight.

I don't understand this. I use Fire sticks or chromecast to watch 95% of the content I watch but it's still chilling out in a chair or couch and watching it on TV. I have friends or family watching with me a lot of the time. Are you just hanging out in your room watching on your computer screen?

Don't know about listo, but I have multiple monitors set up in my office. One of them usually has something streaming while others are dedicated to a few different work and personal machines. I haven't owned a TV in years, but mainly because I just don't have the patience to sit and focus on a program without something else to do.

When hanging out with friends and family, we listen to music.
