They let interesting shows die, like "Firefly" and "The Dresden Files" and, more recently, mildly interesting premises like Ioan Gruffudd's immortal MD on "Forever", or even Poppy Montgomery's perfect recall on "Unforgettable". But they'll redo every single thing from our youth.

...but then off the wall stuff gets panned and doesn't make any money. Stuff that requires you to engage in the process and mentally participate in the story gets overlooked for movies with boobs and 'splosions while I stuff greasy popcorn into my face or TV that's hell bent on teaching you some kind of moral with drivel written at a third grade level. They're making the shit that makes money. Next time you're in a theater and everyone 'ooohs' and 'ahhhs' because something blew up, turn to the left or right and thank your neighbor for buying crap.

I don't understand this. I use Fire sticks or chromecast to watch 95% of the content I watch but it's still chilling out in a chair or couch and watching it on TV. I have friends or family watching with me a lot of the time. Are you just hanging out in your room watching on your computer screen?

I have a computer in the corner of the living room with a nice monitor. I have a TV against the wall. When my kids were younger we would watch stuff together in the living room, on that TV with the Roku attached. My kids are grown so now I just turn on the PC and watch that screen instead. When I have friends/family over we talk, eat, drink, listen to music, play games.
