Hi all, I'm trying to find what the average cost per sq. ft. is for new construction in my city. I've tried google, ask.com etc. and can't seem to get an answer. Can you recommend a free site I can go to to get this answer? If there's an expert on here already, I'm looking in southern california 91604 area code. Thanks.

I ran through the calculator for using average building stuff...

3000 sq ft home with standard quality (level 4) materials and wood frame with 900 sq ft (30 x 30) attached garage.
Built in a metro area (assumption made here) and not on a housing tract.
Forced air central ducted heating and cooling. No fireplace. No basement.
Basically looking at basic, run of the mill, home.
Estimate about $375,000, so $125/sq ft

Check out coolhouseplans.com, find a house close to what you want and then plug that into building-cost.net.
