I re-watched that final TD and none of us - not a single one of us - will ever be as chill and badass as Hunter Renfroe was after he caught that football.

https://youtu.be/V0ARYY84T-M?t=7m40s

Guy looks over at the ref and flips him the ball more casually than I toss the remote on the couch. Renfroe has to be the most hated guy in Alabama, does he not? All those TDs over the last couple of years, not to mention the tackle he made earlier in the 2nd half to keep Anderson from scoring the defensive TD.

Renfroe has to be the player of the game. 10 catches including the GW TD, many for 1st downs. He also had the tackle of the defender that recovered the fumble. Without that tackle, the defender scores a TD. Instead, Alabama is held to FG, a 4 point difference.

My worst nightmare is watching that ball come in in a spot like that. I know I'd be thinking 1000 thoughts about not blowing it. The ball would seem like it's moving about 1" per hour - until it's on me and I suddenly forget how to catch. At least it wasn't a long slow lob.

First time I've ever watched Highly Questionable on ESPN. Dabo is talking about his alcoholic father. It's pretty intense. Much more impressed with the dude for opening up like this (I'm sure he has before I just didn't know it).

Agreed. But this catch is the most impressive play of the game to me given the situation, difficulty and how much it meant to the final drive. I don't think anyone wanted to see a 48-yard FG to tie.

That was one of those throws I'm talking about where I said "lets not go overboard on Watson here".

It wasn't a very good throw at all. Leggett made an incredible catch there. Would any of us have faith in Kelce bringing that pass in? And Kelce's a goddamn stud.

Those kids were just locked in.

Additionally, I have a pair of Sean Smith's gloves from one of the BCA games. Ever mess around with those receiver/DB gloves? It's small wonder they can make some of those catches, those gloves are sticky as shit.

It was just one of those things where the official looked over at the wrong time and it looked worse than it was because of it. I'd have swallowed the flag.

For the breaks that 'bama got early on in the officiating, it evened up in that 4th quarter.
I thought the same from the one and only short replay I saw of it. Unless they didnt replay the actual infraction it didnt look like much of anything but typical after the whistle play from 2 lineman locked up. Like you said, may have been a make up call.
