So does PowerMizzou

Bill at, I find it hard to believe players would hate an old, out-of-touch white guy who has strict discipline tendencies, can't coach, can't motivate, and can't develop players. Who throws them under the bus in public saying they need to sit up straight and not wear their coats indoors. Etc, etc, etc.

Oh, wait? Those are things anyone could see coming from the second he was rumored to be in contention for the job?

I'm just glad that Anderson has brought stability to the program. His entire first recruiting class has now left the team within two years. The three four star players he inherited (Biedscheid, Williams, Clark) have transferred or been dismissed.

Wright and Grant, **** recruits brought to him by Haith, are both gone. Gill-Caeser, Fulford's one decent recruit, left after a year.

His two upperclassmen are both transfers: a JUCO and a Texas washout.

But he's restoring honor, integrity, and stability to MU basketball.

COLUMBIA — Since Missouri men's basketball coach Kim Anderson had his postseason press conference March 22, the Tigers' roster has gone through a small transition.

Missouri added guards Jordan Geist and Frankie Hughes, while sophomore forward Jakeenan Gant announced his decision to transfer out of the program. The moves leave Missouri with two upperclassmen: Texas transfer Jordan Barnett, who will be eligible to play at the end of the fall 2016 semester, and junior center Russell Woods.

Anderson spoke about his team's roster turnover with reporters Friday following the public screening of the new ESPN documentary "Norm."

Gant's departure

When Gant announced his decision to transfer April 21, it meant all four of the sophomores on this year's Tigers have left the program. Anderson said Gant's decision wasn't surprising, but the decision still leaves Missouri thin at forward. The Tigers will return two forwards from the 2015-16 team: Woods and freshman forward Kevin Puryear.

"It was disappointing because he mentioned several times he wasn’t going anywhere," Anderson said. "I think he wants to end up a little closer to home."

Filling open scholarships

When the Missouri men's basketball team announced self-imposed sanctions that included a scholarship reduction, the 2016-17 Tigers looked to have more players than they did open scholarships. However, after much change to the roster in recent month, Missouri has two open scholarships. With the openings, Anderson has worked to address deficiencies in his team's roster.

Anderson said he believes he has done that with Geist and Hughes. The Tigers got to see Hughes while recruiting his high school teammate, guard Willie Jackson, who signed with the team in November. Anderson and his staff scouted Geist at the National Junior College Athletic Association Tournament, where Geist was playing for Ranger College. The guard averaged 11.8 points per game while leading Ranger to a fourth place finish in the NJCAA Tournament.

"We need more ballhandlers," Anderson said of Geist. "When we saw him play in the national tournament, we got after him a little bit harder."

Anderson said he would like to add one more big man and leave an open scholarship to satisfy the self-imposed NCAA sanctions, but he did not rule out filling both scholarships before this season. Missouri is forced to forfeit one scholarship during either the 2016-17 season or the 2017-18 season.

"I would anticipate trying to sign one more player," Anderson said. "We’re looking at different options. It changes day by day."

As of now, Missouri's five newcomers will arrive in Columbia on June 6. From there, the Tigers will spend June practicing two hours per week and doing strength and conditioning. For the rest of the summer, Missouri will begin to prepare for the team's trip to Italy, which takes place from Aug. 5 to 15

The school as a whole has issues. In the macro level at the school you can point to any number of leadership failures, miscalculations, people doing what's 'right' (in their own mind), and pure greed; in the end you get what MIZZOU has become.

Michael and Jontay Porter are moving to Seattle. Their dad accepted a job with Washington after turning down the same job with Anderson.

So, that badass recruiting mother****er that was supposed to be Corey Tate has already left Mizzou to take the same job....at SLU, because Tate "wasn't a Kim Anderson guy."
