And i'm well aware of the differences at ILB, i just don't care. Yes, the best ILB's do both. The best safeties can also do both. I'm well aware that certain limitations limit certain players to strict positions and downs.

Rashan Melvin had a lot of people talking. He had a solid season and came cheap on a 1 yr deal. Trumaine Johnson would've been better than David ****ing Amerson.

And then there's that thing called the draft....and the supplemental draft.

I am not salty or snarky. Just pointing out that there are only a handful of guys at either position in the entire league which from your point of view means that most of the are not very good. That is a flawed point of view.
If you don't care then what is your real point?

That is the same Trumaine Johnson that got a $72.5M deal. Which is a mega deal. We do not have the cap space for that.
We did trade a pick for Fuller from this draft. Yes it sure would have been nice to have drafted one of the CBs in this draft but we didn't and don't know the compensation that it would have taken to have gotten into a position to have gotten one either.
Supplemental draft this year had a couple of prospects Sam Beal which was a 3rd round pick and Adonis Alexander which was a 6th round pick, Beal will miss this year due to injury. That would have required us giving up a pick in next years draft too. Let us not forget that this year was the first time since 2012 that a player was even drafted in the Supplemental draft, so it is not common place by any means.

Ragland was good last year and more importantly continued to improve as his knee healed and most likely will continue to do so this year.

Remembering when half of you wanted to can DJ after his first two seasons.

Had we taken secondary players early in the draft, people would be complaining that Veach hadn’t done enough to address the depth in the front seven. So what gives?

His resources were limited without the first round pick especially.

It seemed like going into the offseason we were all in agreement that rebuilding the defense was a two year project, but I guess not.

His base salary this year is $6m. Pretty sure the Chiefs could've made that work. And again, Rashan Melvin. 6.5M this season on a 1 year deal. Excuses.
