As far as criteria, in the past the judges said, we have to look at the body of work to make a final decision, and then they picked the winner of based on the season worth of work. They did it to Tommy and to Sausage. Now, its the Super Bowl and it doesnt matter how you got there. They changed the criteria for picking the winner, in a tie, this season.

In the past the finale wasn't a challenge, so the past doesnt mean shit.

It doesn't matter if they knew when the season started or just before they were given their assignment. All 3 of them knew what they were to do before they applied their first bit of ink and Cleen didn't do the challenge.

The finale is the same every season. a 35 hour back piece. that part didnt change at all outside of them not being able to pick their style.

If they made it so they couldn't do whatever they wanted, like the past season, then it has in fact changed. They made it a challenge. The finalist got to pick what they wanted the others to do. Cleen and Erik chose to make Jason do newschool. He beat them with newschool, the style they thought was the toughest for him to do. He won. He deserves to be Ink Master for that fact.

I started mine when I was 27 or 28. I sat for 4.5 hours in the first session. The guy worked fast though so I had a grim reaper lined and shaded for the most part after that.

My artist moved to ****ing Atlanta to open a shop halfway through mine. He came back for a weekend and we worked Saturday and Sunday on it. That shit would probably kill me today.

As far as not hittigng the mark, he didnt, but his overall body of work should of been considered, like it had in the past, and they decided to not look at that this season, which is a change from previous seasons.

Yeah, I'd much rather get a tattoo from Cleen, but I think being an Ink Master is winning a head to head tattoo challenge that you're peers picked as your weakest style. That's why the final challenge trumped the season, imo.

I love when people resort to personal insults because they cant discuss anything with civility and cant even possibly be wrong, or look at it from another angle.. Takes a ton of intelligence to just discuss things with people without throwing personal insults out.

You're not willing to do any reasoning, though. You have a bias, and you're sticking to it like glue.

Letting the other two guys pick the style you have to tattoo with is a dramatic change from previous years, and it warrants giving it a heavier value towards picking the winner. I've got no problem with them going solely off of it to pick the winner since it's such a change from years past.

why should this season be the same as every other season?
why should the whole body of work been considered? just because it had in the past seasons?
they changed it up, again did it happen right before the finale or was it planned all along and the contestants know about it?

In the past, they did not have to tattoo a specific style for the final tattoo. If Cleen doesn't stick to the challenge of a specific style, and still win because of his body of work, then why even have a finale? If Cleen would have done Eric's tattoo, he would've won in spite of the inferior tattoo, because of his body of work. Instead, he copped out on the challenge and forfeited $100k.
