Hah.

Seems everyone hated Tobey Maguire and the guy in the Amazing Spider-Man flicks didn't seem to fare much better.

Honestly, I'm not sure it would've mattered who played Spider-Man. Peter Parker isn't an uber lovable character. He's really just kind of a nerdy kid.

You just have to appreciate Spider-Man for other things.

He's just a scrawny kid but he'd kick everyone in this movie's ass save Iron Man and War Machine.

I think you have some fanboy misconceptions going on here, Iron Man's just a dickhead in a mech suit, not all powerful.

I don't want to turn this into a nerd battle, but ignoring the comics in which it's pretty obvious that Iron Man would destroy Cap, he's wearing a ****ing billion dollar suit.

There's no way a really strong human would be able to even give him a fair one.

Measuring it "power" versus "power" alone is discounting the characters, and even then you're ignoring the "lolshield." An extreme DC analogy would be that New Gods can zap things out of existence in the blink of an eye but a guy in a bat suit can still take down Darseid and Mobius with his wits and tactics alone.

I think Cap would know that Stark can fly and shoot lasers and all these things but it doesn't really matter if he just stands there and hides behind his shield. Once Stark gives up and goes down to fight him, Cap would have the edge in hand-to-hand and lay the beat down with the shield.

Bring out some of Hawkeye's trick arrows from the comics and it is a lot more even. He has an EMP one that can shut down Tony's suit.

That's all comic book bullshit.

Batman would have about as much chance in a fight against Darkseid as Cap would against Iron Man. See: none.

Batman is the biggest joke in comics. His only ability is the writers. Almost every hero and villain could beat him.

iron man and cap are more of an even fight if tony is not in a special suit. Iron man wins all air and open environment battles. Cap wins in close spaces.

I mean.. they kind of are comic book characters right? and this isn't even hypothesizing, it actually happened in print whether people like it or not

It's plot induced stupidity.

In the Civil War comics Cap stood no chance without intervention from Hercules or suit sabotage from Vision anyway.

Iron Man>Captain America.

If you want to set aside "comic book bullshit" Tony Stark would be in a body cast, brain-dead from concussions by now.

Comic book world physics are something I can suspend my disbelief for.

I can suspend my disbelief when a guy throws a disc made of metal that supposedly dispersed inertia and yet it ricochets off of everything it touches. I can suspend my disbelief when a guy can turn into an 8 foot tall, green monster based on his emotional state.

I cannot buy that a man in a billion dollar suit designed to combat entire terrorist organizations as a self-proclaimed nuclear deterrent would lose a straight up fight against an enhanced human.

Ta'Chilla could've hacked the suit to disable it.
on a side note, I wonder if we'll ever see Red Hulk. Since they have Blonsky to experiment on, Silverbolt may have generated his version of a super soldier serum.
