Madden 2013

Due to the Madden 12 thread, I'd thought i'd post what the news is about this years edition.

-There will be no more picks from defenders looking over the shoulder or having the ball come over head. Defense must face the ball.
- Super jump abilities for LBs/DBs has been taken away
-Receiver icons will light up for pass plays when they would expect the ball on certain routes. Doesn't mean they're open, but when they would expect the ball coming out of breaks.
-There are new accuracy tweaks. They want you to throw into windows instead of waiting for the receiver gets open (almost impossible on 12)
- New throwing motions, and specific drop backs for all qbs (3,5,7 step drops)
-QBs do PA faster so you don't get raped by defenses constantly.

All I've heard so far really, but it seems that this game should play better. However, that is what is said every year. Until Madden gets a true competitor imo (2ksports) they will continue to put out a shitty product.

So, ….
Should I bite the bullet and trade in NCAA for Madden?

I’ve been playing NCAA dynasty as a D-coordinator for Bowling Green.
Recruiting is improved, but still seems a bit tedious.

I don't think anyone should trade anything in... ever. Such a ripoff.

Pretty iffy.. There were 3 QB's in my draft class that were projected top 15 picks.. the #1 guy ended up being a 74 overall and the #15 guy was an 82.. I also drafted a MLB in the 5th round that was an 81. A lot of it is luck... Unless you have 10K you want to throw down on an individual to see what range their overall rating is..

That's one thing I haven't quite figured out yet. It seems like every week you get a random amount of Scout Points given to you? Is there any way to increase that amount?

Also, I'm glad to see they got rid of that dumbass A,B,C,D,F potential rating horseshit they had in Madden 11 (the last one I played). Some players can progress faster than others but they won't be limited by some dumbass, arbitrary, random, completely ****ing stupid cap.

They actuslly talk about prospects for the draft during the season, I thought that was awesome. I traded Casshole, and traded up to the number 5 spot to try and draft a Qb who was supposed to go 6th. To my suprise, the guy who was supposed to go 1st overall slid to the number 5 slot, so I drafted an awesome qb. To me, that showed it doesnt always draft the bpa for every team. All teams ahead of me had good qb's, and didnt need one. I assumed if he was projected to go number one overall, he would. But he didnt so I thought that was cool.

In my first season Tamba had 1 sack? I had no idea why, but im using him as a user player now to try and beef those stats up. Overall though I really like the game.
Yeah, and I'll tell you something else. The best players aren't always or even usually in the top 10. I reach on almost every pick, and rarely pick anyone under 75. So far I picked an 84 overall CB in the 2nd round (maxed potential, projected 3rd rounder) I picked an 84 overall Center in the 5th round (maxed potential, projected 7th round) and an 82 overall right guard ( quick potential, projected 7th rounder) in the same draft. Oh, and I drafted a 7th round projected 5 tech DE and he was better than Dorsey as soon as he signed with the team. Got an awesome TE in the 2nd round too. He's 6-7 and has 88 speed and good ratings. Oh, damn, and I drafted a back up HB in the 4th round (projected 25 in the fifth) and he was an 84 with maxed potential. I have no doubt he was better than the 2 first round prospects, because I scouted them all.

Always scout awareness. Lots of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th rounders have like 10 awareness with you can't overcome.

What I've had trouble locating later in the draft are good WR's and good QB's. I think the WR's are there, but I scout QB's and rarely see anyone I'd call a steal.

I think I might have to pick this up. NCAA recruiting is just time consuming.

I finally got a chance to play against Gonzo last night. The graphics are outstanding and the players look more realistic than w/ the previous Madden games.

Oh, and I got my ass kicked by 2 TDs and 1 FG...

Chiefs 27
Titans 10
