Also of note, PTSD is speculation. Only thing confirmed by the Sheriffs dept. is that the shooter was a 28 yr old former marine. No statement to any tours of duty in a war zone made.

Magically make every single gun in the entire country disappear. Poof!

Lets not worry about the fact that is literally impossible, and completely against the constitution. It would work!!

I know, but I generally ignore PB for already stated reasons. But, you know people, especially ones in this forum, will take something and run with it as long as it fits their narrative.
Example, Bush bad, Bush war bad, obviously Bush killed these kids. When I see something this stupid, I cant leave it alone...its a curse

I have long had a theory about this...and some evidence to back it up. People in WW1 and II often did not fire at the enemy. Indeed, Col Samuel Marshall did a study on this and found that only about 1 in 5 actually fired their weapons while in combat. Marshall's thesis was that religious training and social norms prevented many of those troops from engaging. You can read about it at this link:

https://www.americanheritage.com/con...2%80%99t-shoot

There is some evidence that the simulated training from the post Vietnam era has dramatically reduced the issue - i.e. soldiers now fire their weapons. However, a problem with that is higher levels of PTSD.

I cannot prove this unequivocally. However as a combat vet who did fire and has unwanted feelings about it since, I believe this to be true.
