A couple questions for those that use one... I've been on mine for about 3 months now, and I've noticed a pretty remarkable difference in my energy through the day. I'm not tired in the middle of the afternoon anymore, and I'm sleeping more through the night.
However, I wake up pretty much on cue at 3 a.m. every stinkin' day and can't get back to sleep unless I take the mask off. Since I've been on it, I've only gone the whole night with the mask (nasal pillow) once or twice. Also, I have a mask that isn't supposed to adjust (it's just two-banded elastic that slips over my head), and it's now stretching out to the point where it doesn't stay on my face very snug. Any suggestions? |

They should be getting in contact with you soon on the reordering of supplies. I get an automated phone call seeing what I need. you may want to get in touch with the company you received it from and ask some questions.

Haven't been able to continually wear the mouthpiece. Too much pressure on my back, upper-left teeth and my front right bottom ones at the same time.
Keeps me from falling asleep easily.

I think I need a sleep study, the only bad part is when you list it on a DOT physical you have to have the log from the machine read and if you don't wear it a certain % of the time, you won't get your DOT card.... DOT card won't help me though if I am dead I guess

Seriously, contact who you got the machine from with your issues. They're there to help.

If not, get refitted for a more correct mask.

I'm giving it plenty of chance, I think. I'm not complaining about it, just looking for advice. It seems to be fine when I go to sleep, but it takes some maneuvering to get the seal just right. And at some point every night, something goes wonky and it wakes me up because it's lost that seal and starts making all kinds of noise and blowing all over my face. Then there's the 3 a.m. wake up every night when I can't get back to sleep unless I take it off. And please believe me, I've tried and tried. Now when I wake up, I just take it off. My pulmonary doc doesn't think it's a problem (and neither do I, really), I just would prefer to not have to do that. |

Sleep apnea when not diagnosed or treated can create a living hell and reek havok on daily motor functions, mental state/preparedness, decision making takes a nose dive. Some fall asleep while driving or sitting at stop lights. Accident at work/home can be attributed to sleep apnea. It is like an iceberg, you see the top sticking out of the water but you have no idea how large it is under the surface
