They always turn the lights on for the final few numbers. Ed likes to see the crowd. They've done that for a long time now.

Really? The article I read about it said it was an 11 pm law thing and Ed was not happy about it.

Interesting.

Interesting.
I can't speak to your particular show. But since the 2000 tour Ed has had their light person turn the house lights on for the last song or two (listen to the 2000 boots and you'll usually hear "Keely, hit the lights!").

They've done it at every show I've attended since 2000 tour. This year at the Brooklyn show they did it for the last three songs. But Ed specifically asked for it.

Cool. That makes much more sense than a law claiming large concert venues have to do it!

Just finished my 2nd listen to Lightning Bolt.

I still don't care for the "harder" tunes they want to go rock out on.

Songs like "Mind Your Manners" sound like forced angry filler.
"Lightning Bolt" sounds like mixing 10 and Vitalogy in a bowl and coming out with greatness.

Divergences like "I'll Be Sleeping By Myself Tonight" seem like album filler.

But filler that's quality.

Pendulum might be the most rounded out song of the album. Reminds me of "Garden" in tone and guitar.

I have to admit that after a 2nd listen I side with the pop fans for the most part. PJ is a better band when they put their finger on the vinyl and slow it just a bit...

I love Neil Young. Eddie loves Neil Young. I know the lyrics to all of my favorite Neil Young songs. Why, then, does Eddie always completely **** up the lyrics when he covers Neil's songs? I have a few live recordings of PJ covering ****in' Up and he butchers the lyrics every time.

I really like "I'll Be Sleeping By Myself Tonight." It was also on Ed's solo ukulele album.

I didn't really appreciate "Lightning Bolt" until I saw them play it live on Jimmy Fallon. That was awesome.

I like their more upbeat songs, but I prefer the ones that are less punk. I prefer songs like Go, State of Love & Trust or Got Some over Spin the Black Circle & MYM.

Well to be fair, usually by the time he gets to the covers near the end of the show, he's had a few bottles of wine.

He was passing out drinks to a people in the front row here in Phoenix.

They've played what people consider some of their best setlists of their entire career. They had a 5 song acoustic set encore here that included some of their lesser known songs: Bee Girl, Future Days, Hard to Imagine, Footsteps and Around the Bend. First time playing Around the Bend in concert since 2006 and only about the 10th all time at a live show!

They followed that 5 song acoustic encore with Jeremy!

Out of about 30 shows IVE Seen. They finally killed off Daughter and Better Man, and made room for some great stuff. OKC was in my top 3 shows I have seen. I really think they have a better time than we do, and get paid$$$. After Elderly Woman, they hit it hard, I have never seen Evolution so early. Loved the setlist!

That's pretty mellow, but I would love to see that. The acoustic set, Go, Low Light, and the new songs would be especially great to see.
