TV is almost unwatchable with all these bullshit political ads.

Our school district tried to pass a levy 7 years ago. It passed the 2nd time.

In Minnesota-opponents are not allowed to use deceptive/untrue information to defeat a school referendum. So-we have this guy that sued for the right to lie on levy elections.

So we are running a levy vote again. Its been 7 years. It will be interesting to see what he will come up with. He is also running for school board.

Political speech is the very basis of the 1st Amendment to the Constitution.

It is the right of the people to speak out against the King, to say the Emperor has not clothes.

If you want to ban political speech from TV legally, you would have to rescind the 1st Amendment and then suffer the overall censorship that allows. No thank you.

I can live with the idiocy and pain of political ads every 2 years, on TV, the pile of flyers, the phone calls. I like the 1st Amendment to the Constitution just the way it is. I'm willing to make the personal sacrifice of putting up with this shit once every 2 years for the widespread freedom granted me by the 1st Amendment. James Madison knew exactly what he was doing when he wrote it or compiled it. If it was good enough for him, it is good enough for me.

If political ads were banned, your cable bill would go up, probably by a lot.

The TV stations depend on charging a high rate to political advertisers every year to make a profit. If they can't do that, then your cable company is going to need to pay more to carry ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox.
