FWIW......the room I have to work with is 9' x 10.5'...so I don't have a HUGE space to use.

Really though, if you've got it down to studs, install conduit for wires. Having all the wires in the wall is huge.
EDIT, when you put it together, run rope through there so you can pull wires. |

I remodeled my basement this spring into a man cave/home office. I have plenty of space though so I don't really have too much advice to give on design.
