Where is the golf thread?

Got to work on a Trackman today trying out some clubs and it was pretty cool. I watched a guy who wants to be a teaching pro work on it for a good while before I did and he was adding loft with his swing and losing distance compared to his club head speed. I was just the opposite when I was up. I was de-lofting a little and hitting it farther then my club head speed.

Cool experience though using the Trackman. I was hitting 6 irons and after 30 balls or so I had pretty much a 5 yard variance. I was averaging 180 yards per shot too. Which is a good for a old man like me. Now if can only get that to the course.

I was looking at the Mizuno's. I play MP-14's that are probably 20 years old. Great clubs but it's time to move on. I hit the Forged Boron XP 850's looking for more distance but I also hit the MP-4's and MP-15's. In the end the 15's with the Titanium inserts seem to be the best today. I need to do another comparison and then also hit a few with my old clubs as well. I can get a new set of Mizuno's for $950.00 after taxes.

I bought a couple clubs off the Callaway certified used site. The funny thing is that if you buy through their eBay store things are about $20 cheaper.

I got an x2 hot 3 fairway wood and an Odyssey versa putter for $180 shipped.

I bought a new putter today for $45.00. It's a Yes C-Groove, Sophia. It's a remake of the old Wizard 600 and that became the Wilson 8802. A new quality material and manufacturing remake. Old School. I think I can make putts with it.

I've got a great set of Mizunos with sharp blades. I didn't get to play much last year but I damn near got a hole in one twice with them. I plugged the green from 170 less than 2 inches from the cup on one of them.
Love those irons.

Generally it ain't the arrow. It's the Indian.

I feel at times that I could have a set of Ping G-30s and still screw this game up. Other times my poor old Nike SasQuatch Sumo irons feel like they just can't miss (relatively speaking....see below)

Of course I'm nowhere near as good as many of y'all are. My norm is somewhere right around 90 (seems like every damn round is betwixt 87 and 92). I've never broke 80 (best ever is 81.....with a four putt for double bogey on the 18th...oops).

You must have felt the pressure from the crowd and it got to you. It happens to all of us.

Oddly enough I had no idea I was scoring that well. 'Twas during a buddies (we hadn't seen each other for about five years) trip last summer and our first round of four. The guy that was keeping score told me about it immediately afterward.
I took all kinds of hell for sandbagging since I took most of the money for the first round. I showed them though....the next round I shot something like a 96 if I recall correctly.
