Hunt and Dorsey

Everyone wants to make this about Andy Reid. Maybe this had nothing to do with Reid. Maybe this was 100% between Hunt and Dorsey (for whatever reason).

I remember the awkward moment they had on draft day when Mahomes was drafted. Watch the last 10 seconds or so of this video. Maybe it's nothing, but it sure looked awkward. The fumbled hand shake degenerating to a hand/fist bump; then Dorsey puts both hands behind his back and Clark gives Dorsey his back as he walks off with no further interaction. I'm no psychologist, but that looks like some awkward body language to me, especially between an owner and GM that just made a bold move to get a franchise qb.

it's stupid; Belichick operates that way on a daily basis in New England and gets praised for it.

Dorsey doesn't have the rings to back it up, follows a similar style and gets basically fired cause some position players feelings are hurt because of and x and y reasons.

I was actually going to make a joke about that on the reaction video because it seems like that's exactly what it looks like

Love EB but would rather have Dorsey if it came down to it. I don't blame Dorsey for the insurance fiasco. Seems like Dorsey was trying to do what was best for the franchise, not for individual players

But you do best for the franchise by doing what's best for the players. At the end of the day the players make your franchise.

Shame on Hunt/Reid for pampering Berry and catering to his hurt "feels". Pull that shit in New England and you get sent to the Browns.

There has to be a chain of command in any structure....and the players know not to **** with Belichick. He's like "you dont like it...fine...bye".

In KC, just pout until you get your way...and the owner is more concerned with bad press and his marketable safety's happiness.

Berry will be gone in a few years...the GM stays for much longer.

Sounds like it really is a family atmosphere at Arrowhead One..a dysfunctional one like everyone else.

Berry has already outlived two GM's and at this rate, it's likely to be three,

After following this team for 35+ years...it looked like they finally stumbled onto that rare GM/head coach chemistry. Good cop/bad cop. Then the rookie owner mingles and ****s it up...why am I not surprised. He did create the Haley/Cassel/Pioli cluster****.

I'm starting to believe Berry's persona is horseshit...he doesn't seem grateful/humble at all.

This is what stands out to me. At some point, you have to realize, it's not everyone else Hunt, it's you.
As others have pointed out, it will be Clark's 3rd GM. Pioli was hands down a great hire at the time he joined the Chiefs. Top GM prospect by almost all accounts. Nobody could have predicted his frenzied megalomania and ultimate failure.Dorsey was also a good hire. He accomplished some good things while he was here. And it's not like he was fired after one bad season. We still don't know the deets. So I disagree with the premise that there's something wrong with Clark as far as team success & relationships with GM's go. At least not with the information we have right now.

Only one player in NE who is untouchable, Tom Brady. The rest are replaceable. They may not be replaced with a superior or even equal player, but that is less important than the players knowing they are part of a team and aren't going make top dollar when they are there.

I wonder how many of the people bitching about Clark doing right by the players bitch about their employers not doing right by them.

Doesn't seem awkward. Hunt was right there when the deal was made. I would think he approved.
