Who plays slot and who backs up Kelce?

These are the only two areas that I wish the Chiefs had addressed In the draft. They interviewed a ton or WR's and TE's during and after the combine and yet didn't take a single one?

Ok let's look at the options on the roster

Slot

DAT
Robinson
Conley
Chesson
Dieter
Braverman
Spruce
Shippen

TE

Harris
Wright
Amaro
Charles
Firkser

So who we got guys? Reid said In a previous press conference that Dat and Conley could play In the slot but I'm not buying it tbh. I like the look of Braverman as he's built like a typical "slot" guy with his speed and elusiveness. Would love to see what Robinson could do In there though because he's got speed and he's elusive too. In the Titan's game on the drive that lead to his TD he was moving all over the field and caught balls on the left, In the middle and on the right-hand side.

As for the tight-ends. Well it's looking a little bleak, isn't it? Obviously, we're blessed to have Kelce but it's looking more and more likely that Harris is back next season unless Wright shows he can get back to his best or Amaro steps up his game and rediscovers the form that got him drafted In round two.

Other than these guys we're counting on Veach trading for someone or getting some undrafted kid who excels In camp.

Robinson, Conley, DAT would all fill that role.

Still pissed off that KC didn't draft Christian Kirk for that role though.

O would be ****in nasty....still can be. But JFC how would teams stop an O w/ Hill/Watkins/Kirk/Kelce/Hunt...I mean shit, pick your poison.

Still baffles me that KC drafted a DT to play OG. I mean yeah it's a project 7th rounder, but they passed on players that are better who actually played the position in college. Plus he's a Raider at heart so **** him.

Nonsense. His heart literally bleeds red. And by literally, I literally mean literally.

Has DAT done anything to earn a continued roster spot? He seems expendable to me as we get others who can dual role as returners (like Tremon Smith).

Or is he someone who will flourish with the change of QB?

Braverman actually could be a good slot wr

Kelce is essentially your slot guy and they signed a few tight ends in free agency so maybe someone sticks

I don't think it matters as much with Mahomes. He clicked with his throws to Harris in Denver. 3-4. The one INC was the deep throw late where Harris knocked it down on purpose.

Interesting stat between the two Denver games last year.

First game there were 29 targets for our "receivers". 8 went to WR's, and 21 went to TE's and backs.

Second game there were 35 targets for our "receivers". 25 went to our WR's, and 10 went to TE's and backs.

I wouldn't expect that to be the norm with Kelce and Hunt on the field with Mahomes going forward, but it does seem to say getting Watkins to pair with Hill might have been huge.

I think that Braverman was a lowkey great signing. I think he has a shot to be a nice slot for us. He is one to watch through camp

Harris can't catch consistently. Only so much a qb can do about that.

KC is going to have a hard time keeping the skill guys happy with their # of touches per game as is. I'm sure that KC has enough variety of receivers already on the team to create matchup problems no matter what defense they go up against.

I have higher expectations for DAT with Patrick Mahomes II throwing the ball. I think they will find good chemistry together and DAT will step it up
