Jesus . . . way to cripple your franchise. I could see spending that kind of coin on a LT, but a Center? Mack is a great player, but that's way too much for that position.

Stupid and ineffective teams do stupid things.
KC, Jacksonville and Cleveland always go through the revolving door of spending high picks and lots of money on offensive linemen...only to eventually replace them with high picks and big money. Jacksonville traded away Eugene Monroe for peanuts and drafted Joeckel and tried to give Alex Mack a silly contract even though they have NOTHING in terms of skill position players. The Chiefs let Albert walk and are replacing him with the first overall pick. Last year we had 2 first rounders, 2 second rounders and 2 third rounders on the OL and let a first and third rounder walk for nothing and will most likely replace them with more premium picks. Cleveland has spent multiple firsts on their OL and have NOTHING in terms of QB or RB to block for...and would have jettisoned Gordon if someone would have let them. Their top two caps hits are Joe Thomas and Alex Mack, totaling 22 million in cap space. That's just beyond stupid. Look no further as to why these 3 teams are some of the most futile in the NFL. |

Dumb thing is....is he gets like $18 million guaranteed over the next 2 years and then he can void the contract.....AND he has a no trade clause.

not that i wish injury on anyone but if he gets hurt they have a 9 million dollar center sitting at home and still have to play a scrub anyway.

I see them the same if not worse. Actually worse. They beat houston twice, Tennessee and cleveland. Not sure if RB is an improvement, could be. WR is iffy with the flakiness. I see them being the worse team next year.

So if he voids it, does that mess with the bonus? if not that is 13 million a year. |
