"....and the Chiefs are going to have to rebuild his mechanics from the ground up."

I don't get this. Mahomes is pretty accurate and can hit guys on a dime 40 yards downfield without squaring his shoulders and giving it a sidearm flick.

Why is there a need to rebuild from the ground up? Sure, you want to improve his footwork, but why rebuild everything on a guy who can throw accurately from multiple angles all the way down the field?

Because I like to bitch, I should at least go on record with what I WOULD have done. Seems only fair that I should have to eat a shit sandwich if I'm wrong.

1st - Mahomes. Hard to say that I'd have been able to find the deal that Dorsey put together but had Whaley called and offered it, I'd have probably taken it. Love, love, love Pat Mahomes and the cost is fine.

59 - Alvin Kamara, RB - Tenn. I just think he's more explosive and a slightly better complement to Ware. He and Wormley were the guys I wanted there; I'd have probably flipped a coin as I went back and forth a lot on these guys. I actually wonder if I'd have tried to work a trade-up for Cunningham but that's just too speculative.

104 - Jaleel Johnson, DT - Iowa; wouldn't have traded up here and would've gone with the beef in the middle. I like Johnson quite a bit and had him pegged as an early/mid 3rd round player with 2nd round ability.

132 - George Kittle, TE - Iowa; like him as a #2 TE. Could end up doing a lot of things well.

170 - Elijah Lee, LB - K-State; truthfully, this isn't a great pick. But this is about where I'd have grabbed him based on my silly list.

180 - Zane Gonzalez, K - Arizona State; didn't get Santos extended so I'd be fine throwing a late rounder at Gonzalez to see if we can make Santos and his 1 year deal expendable. All these guys won't make the team anyway.

183 - Robert Davis, WR - Georgia State; prefer his upside. He has every tool there is and outstanding college production.

245 - Chad Kelly, QB - Ol' Miss; eh, if he knocks Bray off the roster, so be it. Another 'who gives a shit if he makes the team' pick.

That's not a hindsight draft; I've referenced all those guys and when/where I'd take them in the draft forum so I didn't cheat and make myself grab guys at their latest point. I just used the cheat sheets I put together for my SF and Den. mocks and kinda merged them for what I think the Chiefs could have used.

So there - I'm on the record. I'd give the draft an A because of Mahomes and frankly I really like the Elijwe and McQuay picks; more than the ones I'd have made. But neither guy was on my radar so I can't try to claim I'd have grabbed them. And honestly, I totally understand the Kpassagnon pick; it's just not what I'd have done in real time. He's another guy that wouldn't have been on my radar until the late 3rd or even 4th round.

Elijwe is just such a Dorsey pick. I don't have a better way to describe how I view Dorsey's 'draft lense' than just pointing at Ujlijwe (and to a lesser extent, McQuay) and saying "well...that."
