if it was a two year strategy, with a restructured foles contract i would say go for romo. that gives him one year to learn the offense. if we are lucky, he excels in year one. by year two, if there is no superbowl put foles in.

thats provided foles doesn't go elsewhere.

otherwise short of trading alex for picks you have to stick with him one more year. even though i hate the idea.

or you say **** it, trade alex, start foles, and draft a qb if there are any left by the 27th pick.

Problem with this is you are assuming Romo can stay healthy.

You think Romo will play all (or even most) of the regular season games and be healthy enough to play in the playoffs? Yeah right... He's 36 with a bad back. He'll be on IR by week 10 more than likely. There's a reason the Broncos (who have horrible QBs) aren't interested and we shouldn't be either.

Smith can't stay healthy. He is a concussion away from walking away.

Dag, I'm not going to quote that big post just for a couple lines, but You are misremembering Foles. You fell in love with the bombs he was dropping all up in Indys shit. Yeah, that was cool. And damn if that part of the game isn't exactly what this Chief team needs.

However, the dude was garbage on the short stuff. And you know how Andy likes the short stuff. Plus if those get picked, they are probably 6. Couple that with his inability to extend plays and it could get ugly quick. Especially if the OL doesn't stay healthy.

I'm not saying it isn't time to jettison Smith and roll with Foles but it definitely CAN get uglier than Smith.

Jesus. It's pretty ****ing ugly now. Smith isn't some irreplaceable QB. Hell even DownField BigGame CA t put up better numbers with less talent around him.

Adjustments can be made. Foles getting more work with the 1's, starting in camp, would produce better results.

maybe this is a parallel path, inviting the chiefs to choose foles, or repeat the same cycle.

even though i have semi sorta kinda endorsed romo to kc, i fear the locker room would suffer tremendously.

you never hear any leaks from anonymous sources in the kc locker room about how bad alex is. or maybe it's just an ingrained kc charm to not talk bad?
