Who Has The Bigger 2015 Season...Maclin or Kelce?
Alex Smith tends to spread the ball around but Jeremy Maclin is an awesome WR coming off a career season who seems to be developing a good report with Smith. Maclin is coming off his best NFL season of over 1300 yards & 10 TD's, just turned 27 last month, is very familiar with Andy Reid's offense and will be the featured WR in this offense.
Travis Kelce is coming off his breakout NFL season where he led all WR's/TE's in both yards and TD's racking up over 800 yards despite starting slow coming off a severe knee injury with a long recovery in his rookie year. Kelce is now 100% healthy going into the 2015 season and is going as high as the 2nd TE off the board in early fantasy drafts ahead of even Jimmy Graham (and never lower than 4th). Can he live up to the lofty expectations? If so who has the bigger season Kelce or Maclin? http://www.kcchiefs.com/news/article...c-e2bec6e3bf69 .....(recent Maclin profile) http://www.kcchiefs.com/media-center...5-db548542e0f6 ....(recent Kelce profile) |

Everybody says "Alex needs a really good team around him. Alex doesn't make the players around him better." But then ignore it when terrible players are around him and we upgrade a bunch of spots on offense. I see Alex as a guy that's only as good as the guys around him, too. That's why I'm seeing him play top shelf ball in 2015. His OL and his receivers should all be more trustworthy in 2015 than in 2014 and it's not even close. It's like going from Kendrick Lewis to Ron Parker and thinking we aren't gonna be better. We got rid of McGlynn and Linkenbach. Fulton will most likely be depth. We have a few guys on essentially one year deals. I expect some guys to really step up and play at a high level on the line. |

Jeff Allen, Don Stephenson, Kush and Fisher haven't earned shit for trust. All of them save Kush have gotten Alex killed in the past, multiple times.

In his career hes played with multiple top 5 defenses, multiple 1000 yard runningbacks, two of the fastest TEs in the NFL, some of the best and worst offensive lines and hes still put up similar numbers no matter the circumstance. I dont see what dark magic changes his 3000 yard, 60 percent, 20 touchdown seasons. A fast WR is going to change all that? |

I just find the Trent Green/Rich Gannon thing lightning in a bottle/completely rare. So rare that I cant think of a QB in the NFL that had done it since, so why are we just crowning Alex Smith that rare breakout canidate?

Wilson early injury Bowes suspension/lack of precision Avery injury (the teams only real deep threat) Stephensons suspension/breakdown Allen's injury Thomas early injury Once everybody was healthy and we added Avant, Alex Smith had 901 yards passing his last 3 games...albeit against below average pass defenses...but still. I see Alex playing the best ball of his career in 2015. |

But you're basically trying to convince us that 10 years of History doesn't mean anything, because apparently for every one of those 10 years his teams weren't good enough, and now all of a sudden, THIS is the year. 10 Years of history suggests that you're wrong. There is no evidence to suggest things are going to all of a sudden turn around for him. All you have is hopes and dreams. Hopes and dreams vs 10 years of history....
