He said Guthrie would be in line to start the one game playoff. As if you projected the starters out, Guthrie would be the next in the current starting rotation order. He basically gave a standard non answer but people are taking it out of context and freaking out.

If we actually faced a 1-game elimination game, then I'm confident in saying Guthrie will not start.

If it was a situation where we played a 163rd game for the division but we were guaranteed the wild card if we lost, then it would be more believable that we could pitch Guthrie for that game, and then someone like Shields for either game 1 or the wild card game if Vargas had already thrown the day or two before.

No worries Hootie, Willingham will be in today. If I was putting the lineup together today, I'd go:

Aoki RF
Colon 2B
Gordon LF
Butler 1B
Perez C
Willingham DH
Moose 3B
Cain CF
Escobar SS

I'm sure Escobar and Colon will be switched though.

Yankees lead the Tigers 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth. Tigers have a man on second with one out.

He said Guthrie would be left off the playoff roster for liam hendriks. And HE would start. Unbelievable how some of you have a hard time hearing
