Matt Miller 3 round mock

http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles...ections/page/2

1. Desmond King CB Iowa
2. Buddha Baker S Washington
3. Kendell Beckwith ILB LSU
3. (Comp)-Jordan Willis OLB

Not bad but we all know a fatty will be in there somewhere. I really like this upcoming draft. Very strong at CB, S, RB and OLB which we could really use help at.

I'm going to lose my mind if we pass on Kizer or Mahomes at 27. It's ****ing time to draft our future QB. I'm so sick of this franchise.

Yeah, Baker won't fall to the 2nd, at least not to our spot in the 2nd, IMO.

I actually wouldn't be completely shocked if he went ahead of Peppers. I don't think it's likely, but it's a possibility. Dude has the range/ball skills to be a difference maker and I'm not sure I see that as much with Peppers.

They're very different players but I think I could see a scenario where a team values Baker's skill set enough to take him earlier than we would expect.

Start planning the going away party.

I doubt it will be both, but it will probably be one and they're going to pass.

I obviously don't know any of this but it makes sense. And I'm not pushing conspiracies. First round guy falls there is a reason. Chiefs will see that reason and pass. Makes the most sense in my head.

Besides that, what first round guys have fallen that have panned out? Rodgers obviously did.

Geno LOL
Brady Quinn - Horrible
Lynch - Jury is out

Who else?

Bridgewater was doing alright. And guys like Dalton, Brees, and Derek Carr were picked right at the top of second round and have worked out.

Yeah, but they weren't fallers.

The thought of Kizer or Mahomes falling down the boards usually (other than Rodgers) means they are nutsack.

Oh hell. Bridgwater was a faller wasn't he?

Too skinny of legs out of Louisville.

OK, you can add him to the list.

It's not fair to call Mahomes a faller.

A month ago he was considered a back of the 2nd pick and potentially even a 3rd rounder. Some folks have been building him up to as much as a top 10 guy (and Hootie seems to think top 5) but that doesn't mean everyone agrees.

Mahomes has a lot of similar earmarks to Carr in that regard. Well prior to the draft he was considered even a potential 3rd rounder. As the draft got closer, he rose all the way up to mid-1st consideration and then by the time the draft rolled around he'd fallen into consideratio as a potential mid-late 2nd round pick.

Mahomes could easily be on a similar track. This isn't like Geno or Quinn where folks had him pegged as a 1st rounder all year - he's a fast riser that may/may not be able to maintain that helium. That's far closer to Carr than Quinn.

Fair enough.

It's just a long time to the draft, and it seems like we've been hearing his name for a long time (ala Geno). I wasn't really paying attention prior to the season ending, but guys trying to identify the next Carr makes some sense.

You can't be a faller if you're considered in a weak class...
