Off Season Lets Talk Guns

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

It all leads back to Kawi having a known problem with the air filter letting dirt into the engine. If you call and ask them, they deny it in a way you know they know what you're talking about. The area the filter meets up with the front of the air box is where most have narrowed the problem down too. There is an after market filter system, faster fan kit, and a more efficient water pump that is supposedly doing away with the issues and making the motors more reliable. Glad yours has been a good one!
Wow. Never heard of any having engine problems before. Mine has been great.

As far as the cold starts go. I know what you mean. I keep a small 5 amp trickle charger going on mine pretty much all the time.

Helps a LOT when your battery is 100%.

I really have no idea if it's possible to reload a regular .22. I assume it would be a big pain in the ass, since one thing I've figured out is the smaller the shell, the easier it is **** up. Any .22 we pick up goes in the junk bucket, along with all steel cases. I really haven't given any thought to what we'll do with the junk bucket when it gets full.

The thing with ARs for around $1000.00 is no one can keep them in stock, at least that what it looks like to me, forget it if it's less than a $1000.00.

Save it until I find someone who reloads?

Invest in the equipment to reload myself?

Decisions, decisions....
You can't reload a rimfire cartridge, no sense in keeping those.

I'm thinking.... fill a giant bucket with the .22 brass and cash it in for $1.50/pound (or thereabouts) at a local salvage yard.

Probably get more for the 22 brass than you do for aluminum cans these days.

Haven't really looked it up, but thats what I am guessing.

You know,I believe there is a CP GunTalk rule that you must provide gratuitous gun photos of said awesome weapons, especially after the great deal you just completed.

You might want to sort that brass into it's own bucket. It'll buy you some powder with it's salvage value when it's full.

Brass, copper, and aluminum all have some value now. People are stealing it left and right, just to scrap it.

Never heard of reloading rimfires, I've heard of people loading rimfires with new brass however. .22 brass is good for scrap, and some people out there make bullets with them. (Using the casing as the jacket and filling with lead)
