Alex Smith Traded to Chiefs

Well, it looks like the deal is done.

https://twitter.com/intent/user?scre...w_p=tweetembed

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
49ers have completed a trade with the Chiefs for Alex Smith, tho can't be official til March 12. Chiefs really made a commitment to Smith

Jay Glazer @JayGlazer
Deal has been agreed upon between Chiefs and 49ers. Compensation unclear but I'm told again Chiefs have made a clear commitment to Smith.

I just can't imagine thats all we are getting for those picks. There's gotta be something coming back in terms of picks and/or players.

As it's been said, he's great with a strong running game, and a short passing game. Not the best QB in the world but now the chiefs can draft a young guy this draft or next and have him learn behind Alex. Not all rookies are Wilson, RG3 and Luck right out of the draft, after all.

With this move, we better damn well be ready to move up and grab EJ Manuel in the draft to sit for 2 years.

Almost feel sorry for Alex Smith. The pressure will be immense. First pick thrown at home and he'll be boo'd out of the stadium.

Could we have traded for Justin Smith and Alex is just like throwing in a 7th rounder?...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Thing is Alex Smith is a really good qb with the short to intermediate passes. Just cant throw a deep ball to save his life. Reid has been known to develop qbs.

I'm already on the record saying the 49ers draft EJ Manuel with pick #34 and trade him to us in 2017 for 2 1st rounders.

It's easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man get into heaven and it's easier for a rich man to get into heaven than for the Chiefs to grow a set of balls and draft a QBotf with the first round pick.
