It sounds pretty good...way better than any of the prequel openings. Interesting story angle, the Imperial Troops are basically the rebels now...hmmm...

An Imperial ship is seen being chased by several other vessels. The vessels close in and board the ship. Stormtroopers are shot as the troops board the vessel.

I think it'd be a really fun, terrific idea. A play on the original trilogy.

The New Republic deals with internal corruption and how to avoid becoming the next Galactic Empire, while simultaneously trying to avoid being weakened by the Imperial remnant.

Don't get too political with it, of course.

Just think of the political overtones though. When the original movies were made, we were at the height of the Cold War. The Republican Rebels were "spreading democracy" and the Soviet-like Imperials were ruling the galaxy with an iron fist.

30 years later, the Republican Rebels are horrible, freedom is corrupt and evil, and the Imperial insurgents are the new champions of the common man.

See this actually scares me now, because the hamfisted political commentary in Into Darkness was so stupid.

I have a feeling the Imperials are going to be out of the picture completely though.

The Republican Rebels were always Imperials at heart, it's just taken 30 years for the majority of the people in the Galactic Republic to figure that out.

You don't have to be a sith to use the dark side. She could easily be alive at 100+ years old.

So I'm guessing 100 years old is nothing?

EDIT:
And **** yes! Ventress was my favorite character from The Clone Wars.
