New York Post: Credit service shuts down payments on all gun purchases

Quote:
Several gun-related businesses were suddenly — and without warning — disrupted in recent weeks when Intuit stopped processing credit card payments because sales were gun-related, The Post has learned.

Some of the payments stopped didn’t even involve firearms, but simply T-shirts and coffee mugs and gun safety classes, according to small business owners....

Those of you who are for gun rights, and are using Intuit, should know what Intuit is up to, so that you can respond as you feel is appropriate.

First off, AR-15 is not the "Killing Machine" you would think.

Again NUMBERS DO NOT LIE you are more likely to be STRUCK BY LIGHTNING than to be KILLED by ANY RIFLE in the United States on any given year.
I was curious, so I looked this claim up. It doesn't seem accurate. The data I found is that the US averages 51 deaths per year to lightning strikes. The most sound data for categorized rifle homicides was 374 in 2016 alone. I would doubt that number deviates dramatically year to year to place it lower than lightning deaths.

You said lightning deaths. He didn't. He said "struck by lightning". That makes a huge difference. There may still be an error range in there, but my guess is that the difference shows up basically like this (older report, but close enough for this discussion)

Quote:
40: Number of lightning deaths in the United States annually, a number derived from reports made over the past decade. Reported incidences have decreased over the past 50 years as the country has become more urban. About 300 people died per year before the 1940s. At the end of November of 2012, 28 deaths had been reported for the year.

400: Lightning injuries per year in the United States, as averaged annually over the past decade.

Which is why I won't support Govt Scott for Senate after his gun control move after Parkland. Well, that and the Chamber of Commerce endorsing him.

No shit.

They represent progressivism. They're found on progressive websites and all over social media. They make up MOST of the modern campus activists.

Yes, they're a minority. I say that all the time. Liberals mostly just don't like conflict, so they just go along with it. I don't think the average liberal actually understands that they're ceding territory to authoritarians. Worse yet, they rarely if EVER push back against authoritarians in their midst. IT's a huge blindspot.

Progressives are minority with disproportionate institutional power and influence in government, academia, and a current monopoly on social media.

I'd be freaking out about the alt-right and fascists as well IF they had the same level of influence and power, but they don't. Colleges aren't training fascist activists. They ARE training progressive activists, and they do so at the expense of providing a quality education. An EXPENSIVE education as you've pointed out.

We live in a nation that freaks out when Trump is supported by David Duke (which he can't actually control) but praises Obama for meeting and doing photo ops with Farrakhan.. a notorious anti-white and anti-semitic black nationalist. Which is worse? Has trump done photo ops with David Duke? What IS the standard on meeting with or being associated with ethno nationalist and ethno supremacists? Cos obviously they're different.

In other words: The left wing version of the alt right has enormous power, control over academic institutions, massive wealth for lobbying, and disseminates it's ideology to easily influenced young people who pay tons of money to be indoctrinated into a very cult-like community. They have excommunications, public shaming for wrong-think, they view people who disagree with them very much the same way the church of scientology views SP's.... and the students are being scammed for 100's of thousands of dollars for the privilege of it.

IT's too much like scientology and has no place in American Academic institutions. Get the ****ing communists OUT OF OUR COLLEGES.

So... yeah. Don't tell me it's not a problem.

Well here's some good news for gun rights:

Second Amendment Foundation Secures Injunction Blocking Deerfield ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban

On Tuesday the Second Amendment Foundation (SAF) secured an injunction blocking Deerfield, Illinois, pending “assault weapons” ban.
On April 3, 2018, Breitbart News reported that Deerfield was not only banning said weapons but empowering its chief of police to confiscate them and destroy them. He would also be empowered to confiscate and destroy “high capacity” magazines. On April 5, 2018, Breitbart News reported that SAF filed suit against Deerfield, claiming the village’s “assault weapons” ban violated Illinois’ preemption law. SAF’s lawsuit was joined by the Illinois State Rifle Association and Deerfield resident Daniel Easterday.

On June 12, 2018, a Lake County circuit judge issue an injunction, blocking Deerfield from implementing the “assault weapons” ban.

Perhaps cash transactions might replace things that involve more traceable methods.
