The state of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Now what...?

With so much anger built-up with this current regime, I can't help but cheer for them after wanting them to fail miserably.

What kind of state is this team and coaching staff in who witnessed this happen if reports are true? Crennel...a defensive coordinator by heart, obviously spent a lot of one-on-one time with this troubled individual. What is he thinking? Scott Pioli...there are banners flying over the stadium calling for your head, and now one of your men has taken the life of a mother and then himself. What is running through his head. Same goes for others who witnessed this tragedy. How do you continue doing your job in a professional manner...?

I have never been in such a situation, but it is one thing to witness someone take their own life, but it's another to witness a friend take such a cowardly route.

SOC...what now? I support the donation idea thrown around in the other threads. IMO, there should be no more banners in the air for the remainder of the season. Do we now go full-homer and support this team regardless of who is navigating the ship?

Finally...if Pioli and [somehow] Crennel return next season, do you support them after what they have witness has humans.

I could have thrown this in either of the two shooting threads, but I wanted to hear your thoughts on where you stand today with the Chiefs. Are you rooting for them to win the remainder of the games this season and whatever happens with our draft position happens....? Is this a matter of football vs real-life to you and as a fan, you still wish for failure in the FO and the #1 draft pick. Or are you somewhere in the middle?

I duno...curious to hear how others feel right now about the state of our franchise given this morning's tragic events. Where do you go from here...?

I am not claiming what it was. Maybe it was all how Arrowhead was. My point was that even if that's true it's not Pioli's fault. You don't have to be a Chief. I can understand it sucking to be a Chiefs player this year but even if one was driven off the edge because of it I don't think it's on the person that created that environment. One could kill themselves because they saw an ugly car, doesn't meant the person that made the car is to blame. I think the grey area is when the person was forced to be in the environment, i.e. children.

This is such an absurd talking point. As if Scott ****ing Pioli was best positioned to notice or intervene in the emotional health of Jovan Belcher.
You are so naive and stupid it is a sick JOKE.

Let's recap the situation:

1) Two Chiefs employees... one a player, one an employee in the stadium operations department both killed themselves and their significant others in murder suicides. These both happened within a 3 month period.

2) Detailed and first hand reports have come out from within the Chiefs organization describing the toxic morale within the organization created by Scott Pioli. This comes from both non-football and football employees.

This may be too much for your gutless self to absorb, but there could very well be a connection and it is worth at least considering.

I am not surprised there are positive results and that's great that they are being proactive. This isn't a field with many suicides due to the mental part of the work place. Even so, being proactive is great, but I don't think just continuing to be an asshole boss puts you at blame.

Wow didn't know about the other one. This has to at least partially fall in Piolis lap no matter how small a contribution, the environment has to contribute something.

This post will probably bring me a lot more grief than it's worth, but even the army is putting the emphasis on leader and peer awareness and intervention. I don't see how it should be any different in a football organization.
a person can exhibit suicidal warning behaviors only around certain people or in certain circumstances. People you work with may not exhibit any at work, but may do so at home. There's no way you can say with any certainty the Chiefs failed Belcher on this.

I think a fresh start would be best for all involved. That's even removing football from the equation.

Some people just cant be reasoned with I guess... have fun thinking Pioli didnt have any sort of hand in this. Workplace killings happen all the time, same with suicides... almost always comes back to something at the work place.

When did that first story come out? I don't remember that. I still don't think it excuses murder or means that the place that created the anger is somehow morally responsible for the murder.

I think it's about a 90% chance Romeo retires. He's had so much on his plate and that's not good for a man his age. Look at his press conferences of the past 2 weeks. He's not only looking confused, but dejected and defeated.

After today, I think that may have been it. He's dealt with so much this season and now this. More than any coach has had to bare this year. I think RAC and Cassel will both be gone next year.

I'm not quite sure about Pioli though. I have a gut feeling Clark won't pull the trigger.
