Tebow vs. Kaepernick

Tebow does this and everybody is going crazy calling him money hungry and pathetic (and called me an idiot for arguing otherwise.)

Kaepernick does it and nobody cares.

I don't get it. Did everybody suddenly realize it's a perfectly legitimate thing to do, or is it just that if you're a good QB you can do whatever you want and if you're not you can't?

For Colin Kaepernick, anything feels possible. He's on the doorstep of Super Bowl glory and even has his own dangerously predictable Internet meme.

Eric Branch of The San Francisco Chronicle reported Wednesday that the San Francisco 49ers' starting quarterback has filed to trademark the term "Kaepernicking," per the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The craze, borne out of Kaepernick's tendency to celebrate touchdowns by flexing his right arm and kissing his bicep, has led to a flood of fan-generated Internet photos copying the pose.

The fad -- which we swear sailors and wrestler-types have been doing for generations -- comes on the heels of Griffining, Bradying, Gronking, and the grandaddy of them all: Tebowing. Reports suggest the societally unnerving streak of "Horsemanning" has nothing to do with the Denver Broncos or their quarterback.

A nation asleep at the wheel barrels onward.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

The NFL as a whole OWNS America, no ****ing doubt. That's not the argument.

LeBron James' superstar status is definitely higher than Tom Brady's...especially worldwide.

Worldwide, NBA players are more famous than NFL players and it's not close at all. Even in America, individually NBA players are more popular than NFL players. Everybody would recognize LeBron or Kobe walking down the street. There's a lot of people who wouldn't recognize NFL players.

It mainly has to do with the fact that NFL players wear helmets and you rarely see their faces when they play.

Yeah everyone loves the draft. I personally don't sit and watch the whole draft. I'll just tune in when the Chiefs pick. I'll watch the NBA Playoffs if either my team is in it or if it's a good series. My favorite sporting event is March Madness I think. I love it.

Kaep's a douche bag for this, but he's a good QB. Tebow just sucks.
