Chiefs trade (Arenas) for...wait for it...a FB?

Chiefs acquired FB Anthony Sherman from the Chiefs...er Cardinals.
New Cards head coach Bruce Arians has no room for plodding fullbacks in his aggressive, vertical offense. So Sherman heads to Andy Reid's West Coast scheme as Jamaal Charles' lead blocker. The 2011 fifth-rounder graded out 20th among 25 qualifying fullbacks in Pro Football Focus' rankings last season. May 1 - 12:11 PM

WTF?

@caplannfl: Chiefs HC Andy Reid uses a FB in his version of the WCO. Sherman was a fifth-round pick in 2011. (cont) http://t.co/hq9qJdiCIv

Seriously mystified here...

Arenas sucks. We can find someone as good for depth.

In a passing league we trade a corner for a fullback. Great.

I'd be pretty shocked if it is anything other than a conditional draft pick.

Yes. He was top 5 even I think. Always gets good yards on punt returns.

Ouch. Bad trade no matter what you gave up because there's no way you need five fullbacks on your roster, especially when so many teams have stopped carrying fullbacks at all.

I like arenas, but now we have flowers, Sean smith, Dunta, Daniels, Commings, and menzie. Some may compete at safety. Arenas is fairly expendable. Don't know who returns kicks but am confident toub weighed in on this.
